Perhaps to help offset the election results, however so slightly, a bit of good news on the 2008 Special Edition Black Rifles. The first batch are on their way to us and will ship from us this coming week (week of 11/10). Those that have not yet placed their orders should do so asap as we're putting together the second batch now.
For those that are not familiar with this year's offering, together with Spike's Tactical, we put together a couple of dedicated .22LR uppers. These are specially marked, and custom built for AR15.com. The two models include a Lothar Walther .22LR barrel for accuracy, one in an M4 configuration, and one complete with a free-floating Daniel Defense Rail and specially marked Troy BUIS. Both are available with or without a complete and matching custom lower.
In addition, we received the custom Black Dog Machine magazines this week, and they came out great. Those that purchase the SEBR get a special price on their magazines, so stock up now.

America is facing a critical point in our history. The election for President of the United States is not about selecting a leader to keep us on a set path, but to recover from many major problems this country is currently facing. It is about selecting a leader who will provide us with national security. It is about selecting a leader who will bring better support to our soldiers and their families. It is about selecting a leader who will defend our Constitutional rights and not leave us defenseless and unable to protect our loved ones and communities. This election is a fight to preserve the American way of life. We must select a leader who is capable of living up to a higher standard.
If you value your Second Amendment rights, you must be aware that the Democrats are aiming to take them from you. This is from their 2008 Democratic Platform Report (DNC 08-13-08):
| We recognize that the right to bear arms is an important part of the American tradition, and we will preserve Americans’ Second Amendment right to own and use firearms. We believe that the right to own firearms is subject to reasonable regulation, but we know that what works in Chicago may not work in Cheyenne. We can work together to enact and enforce commonsense laws and improvements – like closing the gun show loophole, improving our background check system, and reinstating the assault weapons ban, so that guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists or criminals. Acting responsibly and with respect for differing views on this issue, we can both protect the constitutional right to bear arms and keep our communities and our children safe. |
As you can see their primary focus is to remove firearms they deem as "assault weapons" which will be anchored by the revised Clinton Gun Ban with more clear wording to address everything from black riles to handguns to hunting ("sniper") rifles. It's time to take a stand before we are left defenseless, something our forefathers gave their lives to prevent.

Heller Decision

The much-anticipated decision in the DC vs Heller case is finally in. This landmark case is an appeal of Parker vs DC, where the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit became the first federal appeals court in the United States to rule that a firearm ban was an unconstitutional infringement of the Second Amendment. This case has drawn the attention of the NRA, the Brady Campaign, distinguished Law Professors all over the country, as well as a number of state's, who signed briefs for the case.

ArmaLite has created the ArmaLite Economic Stimulus Package in reaction to the current economy, and to the high demand for high capacity firearms, by releasing a special allotment of AR-24 and AR-24k pistols featuring a $50 dollar Economic Stimulus Package. The pistols are available in both standard grade and Combat Custom models featuring finely checkered frames and adjustable sights. The same pistols are available with 10 round magazines for our friends in those states that limit magazine capacity. Pistols available at a retail price for the Standard versions are $499.99 and Custom Combats for $581.

 2nd Annual Bushmaster Cup at Camp Perry
This Prestigious Bushmaster Cup will be awarded to the Individual with the highest overall shooting score of the Mountain Man Aggregate using a
Factory Bushmaster Rifle. (factory trigger excluded)
Mountain Man Aggregate is: Combined shooting score of: President’s 100 Match, National Trophy Individual Match, and the National Trophy Team Matches.
Bushmaster will be awarding two Cups: 1 to Top Junior, and 1 to the Overall Champion. CMP is accepting online registrations, and will have entry forms at the event registration building. Register Here Online.
Bushmaster Cups will be awarded at the CMP NT Rifle Award Ceremony on August 1st . Presentation of Bushmaster Cup will b e made by Jarrod McDevitt- Competition Program Coordinator of Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC. Awards banquet starts at 1900 hrs.
Rules:
Pre-Registration is required. Entry forms must be given to CMP before 1st Event gets underway. Individual winning award does so by using a Factory Bushmaster Rifle (factory trigger excluded) in the above matches. Winning each event is not required (but encouraged). The individual using a Factory Bushmaster Rifle with the highest combined shooting score wins the 2nd Annual Bushmaster Cup.
Match scores and entry forms will be received from CMP to determine winner.
A Company Representative to will inspect winners rifles to ensure it is a factory rifle (excluding trigger).

Bushmaster Presents $10,000 for Junior Shooter Support

Windham, Maine -- Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC (BFI) recently made a $10,000.00 contribution to the CMP National Matches Junior Highpower Support Fund. A formal check presentation ceremony took place at Camp Butner, North Carolina during the Eastern CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches. The check represents the proceeds from a special series of Bushmaster DCM-XR competition rifles that were produced to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the National Matches coming to Camp Perry, Ohio.
Jarrod McDevitt, Competition Program Coordinator at Bushmaster, presented the check. Bushmaster produced and began marketing the special DCM-XR rifle during the 2007 National Matches at Camp Perry, and committed to donating $100.00 from each rifle sale to the CMP National Matches Junior Highpower Support Fund. The Support Fund provides financial assistance to partially offset the costs of travel, accommodations and entry fees for juniors competing in the CMP service rifle matches at Camp Perry. In 2007, this fund provided nearly $25,000.00 in support for junior highpower shooters to help make it possible for them to attend the National Matches.
Chad Brooks, CEO said, "We were very pleased to work with CMP on a special project like this. Knowing that the proceeds benefit Jr. Shooters made it all worth it. Our commitment to youth programs will only grow. Bushmaster realizes the importance of teaching firearm safety and marksmanship training to all age groups and will always do its part in supporting that."
DCM-XR Competition rifles produced were serialized with numbers "1 of 100" through "100 of 100." A logo commemorating the Camp Perry Centennial and the CMP was laser engraved on the magazine well. Number one of this series of rifles was used by Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army John McLaurin to fire the ceremonial first shot of the 2007 National Matches First Shot Ceremony.
Bushmaster Firearms International, LLC (BFI) also recently donated award rifles to the CMP Eastern Games & Creedmoor Cup at Camp Butner, NC held May 3-11.
CMP Eastern Games award rifle winner was Michael O'Neil with a score of 374-13X in the CMP EIC Match. Michael received an award certificate for a Bushmaster DCM-XR Series Rifle.
Two other Bushmaster DCM-XR rifles were awarded to the Overall Champion and the Jr. Champion of the Eastern Creedmoor Cup Match. The Overall Winner was SFC Grant Singley USA with a score of 790-31X, and the Junior Champion was Jason Case with a score of 784-30X.
Bushmaster Competition Program Coordinator Jarrod McDevitt stated, "This year's event was definitely one to remember. Our newly formed Bushmaster Rifle Team held a clinic on May 7th with the Army Marksmanship Unit and USMC Shooting Team. The quality of instruction given was unlike any ever offered. We had active duty AMU and USMC shooters, a retired Distinguished AMU National Champion, a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant USMC double distinguished instructor, and other National Champions on hand providing instruction."
Bushmaster would like to congratulate our award winners and give "Special Thanks" to the Army Marksmanship Unit and the US Marine Corp Shooting Team for providing excellent assistance with this year's clinic.

St. Clour, Minnesota, DPMS, a leading supplier of AR15 based rifles, parts and accessories announced today that its assets have been acquired by an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management, L.P.
