COMPILED BY ASA,
All,
Brian Murphy and I are still looking for range data for the Google Earth range project - we have 400 ranges (of all distances) located worldwide, but are always looking for more. We know that many ranges aren't listed in our current version.
The thread for the project (including the attachment with the most current data) can be seen at bbs.keyhole.com/ubb/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/524830/page/0/fpart/all/vc/1 .
If you know of a facility that should be added, please send us at least one of the following:
A club webpage;
Directions to the range (maps are really nice);
GPS coordinates to the front gate (lat/long format preferred);
Any other information that may be used as a landmark.
Without any of the above information, it is pretty difficult to locate facilities. Even with a good set of directions, it can be difficult, since resolution in some of the areas of the "globe" are not as good as in others.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
System Requirements for Google Earth.
To use the file located at the link above, you need the following:
A copy of Google Earth. A free download at earth.google.com/download-earth.html . Depending on version, the program is 400 megs or 2 gigs.
A high speed Internet connection.
The file with range locations. Go to the thread in the first link above, and open the attachment.
If you have corrections or updates to the locations shown, or wish to add new ranges to the list, please post a reply at Google - I'll consolidate the new posts into the master attachment periodically.
Thanks to Brian Murphy, who does most of the work on this project. Additional thanks to everyone who provided range data - too many to list here.
