*I understand that there is a rumor being spread about being required to purchase frangible ammo for this class. Let me clear the confusion and say that is absolutely NOT true. The facility will be able to handle .223 / 5.56mm FMJ just fine. You can even use reloads / handloads if you like.

Also, the range is well ventilated with an open roof and is 50 yards deep by 25 yards wide.

If you have heard any other rumors concerning this class, or the facilty, please IM me so that I can address it accordingly.

Why is it that the good training ckasses always happen when there's a gunshow in Houston?  Same weekend as the BIG Houston gunshow :(

Course Description
This is a fast paced, hands-on, super dynamic live fire course with minimal time spent in the classroom. Starting with combat mindset, the class thoroughly covers:

Rapid threat analysis and acquisition
Shooting on the move
Multiple target engagement
Strong and reaction side shooting
Malfunctions
Natural and improvised shooting positions
Barricade shooting
Shooting from vehicles (client dependant)
Concealed shooting
Low light tactics
Individual and team confidence enhancement shooting drills
Individual and team live fire stress courses

Hardware/Kit
A functional carbine or submachine gun chambered in 5.56x45, 5.45x39 or 7.62x39mm or standard pistol caliber weapon systems. If available, a spare weapon system is also an excellent idea. A cleaning kit and tools that are compatible with the weapon system(s) in question is also a must. Each student should have a minimum of 5 working magazines. Sometimes magazines will make it in your dump bag and sometimes they won't. If they hit the ground they can become fouled, causing weapon malfunctions and time off the line.

Note pad, and pen/pencil
Clothing suited to strenuous type activity as well as being seasonally appropriate
Appropriate foot wear
Rain gear / cold weather gear (seasonal)
Ear pro (electronic preferred)
Eye pro, which wraps around
Clear lenses for night shoots
Baseball style hat recommended
Primary weapon sling, single point, or a good system that allows flexibility for transitions and reaction side weapon manipulations
A rig that can carry a minimum of four (4) primary magazines on your person
Functioning secondary weapon system, and three working magazines
A holster and magazine pouch that will retain your equipment when moving
Primary weapon mounted light
Secondary weapon mounted or handheld light
Spare bulbs and batteries for all lights
Tools that work on your weapon
Weapons lube
Optics will require adjustment tools and spare batteries
Water hydrating device
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Gloves (optional)
An open mind.

As long as the ammunition is not .50 BMG, the facility will be able to handle it. You can also use reloads / handloads, .223, .5.6mm, .308, 7.62 x 51/54mm, 6.8 SPC, etc...

Also, the range is well ventilated with an open roof and is 50 yards deep by 25 yards wide.

YOU GUYS NEED TO COME TO DALLAS ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It takes a lot to set up a class and put it together in a new city. Developing a relationship and acquiring a range with a good facility that will allow us to take it over for a weekend is not easy to find. Then there's the location of the range in relations to lodging, dining, entertainment, etc... you get the jist of it.

We have three guys from Dallas coming down for the class this weekend. One guy from San Antonio and one from Austin.

All of the instructors are from the SOF community and have at least two recent deployments under their belt. There's going to be a lot of good information and training in this class of what works and what doesn't when you're shooting at the two-legged vermin that shoots back at you. Hope you can make it the next time we're in town (Houston).

Until then, get the DVD. You'll pick up a few things that may help you "hone your art."
