This topic is useless without a date, address, and directions from Austin.....
I assume this is the event mentioned in another thread, scheduled for November 9th??????? |
Nov 9th ,,.. yes Address ,,.. Tom Bean from Austin, 75 north about 30 miles N of McKinney Map to follow at later date as soon as I figure out how to post one or have one ready to email to those comming |
I will do what I can. I cant make any promises though. If there is something I need to bring, you guys need to TELL ME.
If I make it, I will be bringing my wife and son, much like we were at Gunstock. |
Love to go, but I'm out of town that weekend. Will go to the next one, if not conflict with schedule. Sorry C&L. |
I'm planning to come. Not sure if It'll be just me, or 2 of us though... I'll know as it gets closer.
I can bring food (I'll bring pretty much whatever is needed after others chime in about what they want to bring...I can bring anything from chips to brisket, plates, ice, drinks etc.) Robbo |
I think I'll be there...
Not sure what I am bringing yet. Have to check finances closer to Nov. 9. |
approx 30 miles N of McKinney and 20 south of Sherman |
Ok...I'm from Houston I have no clue where it is. Is there a link to a map or something? |

From Dallas go north on us 75 to Melissa and state hwy 121. Go east on 121 till you come to state hwy 160. Turn left on 160 till you get to Whitewright. Turn left (west) on state hwy 11. Take hwy 11 through Tom Bean and turn left at the bank. This will take you to FM 902 and the range will be about 300 yards from that point on the right.
From US 75 exit at Howe and go east to state hwy 5. Turn left and go about two blocks and turn right on FM 902. Look for the signs, you will turn right, go a block, turn left, then turn right across the railroad tracks. You will go about 10 miles to Tom Bean and you will see the range on the left. If you go to the stop sign at the bank in downtown Tom Bean you have gone too far. If you come in on Hwy 11 turn at the bank and the C&L can fill in any of the street names here I hope. |

A map is in the works along with exit numbers for those not familiar with the area

Forgot to give some kudos to Renegade for the info. I pulled the image for him though. See page 2 for directions. Email if you have problems. |
I will be there.
Shall I bring the makings for some post-shoot Windex Margaritas, or shall we simply retire to a local establishment for food and beverages? Hmmmm? Eric The(AlwaysThirsty)Hun |
Since we have the range all night for as long as we want it and the blessings of the owner to "kick back and relax" along with a full moon. I have arranged for you to have access to electricty for the preban blender |
Well, I sent you the GPS coordinates, and told you to pull it off GlobeExplorer! And I am not even going to make it :-( Ya'All have fun! |

Unless we move the party to Sherman or Denison the eating establishments in the area are....shall we say limited. BTW it's about a 20 mile drive to the nearest beer store in Knollwood or Denison. If yall forget to stock up Melissa will be your option on the way in. It's not quite as isolated as the Hun Farm but it aint too far behind it. |
I'll be there with one or two guests but definitely 1(me). Potatoe salad anyone?
Nov. 9th is the date.

Was hoping you two could make it. Guess I need to break out another bunch of chicken breasts and meat for the smoker Looks like I need to see if I can dig up more targets, Im working on some base stands for target frames, have two already, one of which Im donating to Ralph for the range, should move them on to the range this weekend. These will hold 1x2 frames. Made from drill stem pipe and square tubing. |

HEY ! It even works for me !!!!!! Thanks again Chris |
A word of caution for those who take the US 75 to FM 902 route through Howe. There is construction on US 75 from the Grayson county line in Van Alstyne up past Howe. DPS and both small town PD's work the construction zone heavily and especially on early Sunday morning. Watch your speed in there if you come that way.
Although the route on 75/121/160/11 is a couple of miles longer , it is a much easier drive. 65/70 all the way on improved US Hwy. I recommend it to all
OOOOH! Does it have a Splash suppresor? |
Well, hell since I live in Sherman, how can I not come. I thought that the range was no longer in use, been a while since I was there. Count me in. Need any help with set up/ clean up?
Ill be there earlier, Frisco has offered to show up also. The range is ours for the day so show when ever ya feel like it. Guys for 5 bucks and a few groceries (pot luck and BBQ), we are gonna have a blast (pun intended) |
KOOL !!! Any hints ? TxEd is making arrangements to show also. This thing is getting BIG ! I have a couple of thoughts that Ill present to the crew at the shoot. Everyone start thinking about future Shootouts. This one is just the ground breaker, first and foremost we are doing this to just have fun and fellowship. WHAT THE HELL HAVE I GOT MYSELF INTO !! |
Markus from Finland. When I was over there, he took me to the range, now I hope I get to return the favor. His priority is to go to the gunshow in mesquite...hopefully we can do this on Saturday.
Great. Finally you do something with us.. I've been here more than 3 yrs, and GS1 was the first and only time I met you. |
Not that I havent wanted to. Time and money being in short supply and schedule conflicts over the last couple of years have kept me from joining in on the DFW crew activities. Besides Im an ugly ol fart and an asshole LEO so you guys havent mised much. It was for your benifit that I stay away |
