Mark I tried that already. The section in the middle is wider than a normal rail. The Eotech wont slide over it. I would need to replace the rail if I wanted to do that. At some point Im going to buy a new Eotech, probably a XPS2-0

Yes is a .22lr BSA martini international MKIII. I fancied a bit of bench rest and it was only £80 in my local shop so picked it up

I did fondle these at the Phoenix. The slide seemed to be smaller that I remembered of a 1911
Can anyone confirm that std holsters and mag pouches can still be used with one of these?

I believe they can, holster would need to be a break front type though

Yep, there is a breakfront holsster available, but tunnel list that at about £225, so I am looking around.

All the series 80 wilson parts fit these, I am quite impressed to be honest, everything seems a little stiff and I have a few mods in
mind, I also think the mainspring seems a liitle weak, I will see when I shoot it saturday, the mags are very well made, they have grip
saftey, ambi-saftey as standard, they wont fire without a mag, so they have all the features of a genuine 1911.

I wiould love one without the brace and extended bbl, but we cant, I used to love pistol shooting, my compensation in 97' started me
off again rifle shooting after the 88' ban, I am really looking forward to making the most of this, and its cheap shooting aswell.

I will post abit of a range report this weekend, it WILL be totally unbiased, watch this space.

You're behind the times Mark. All the fast boys are using race holsters, Ghost, Safariland, Speedsec etc..

That said, I did initially convert (butcher, ) a PWL break front holster for my Buckmark.............

Oh, and I saw one yesterday at WNSC, did look nice, and somebody else got very excited about it...............

I had a buckmark LBP with the standard weight barrel and the original open sights fitted. Also tried it with a red dot.
Whilst it was fun for a while, my overall impression was that it left me feeling underwhelmed. I was never that into pistols anyway but an LBP or an LBR is absolutely not the same as real pistol shooting.
My buckmark would often fail to cycle when shot left handed. I rang up Westlake about it and he said it must be the way I held it. Funny really cos it was equally fecking useless when my mate who is a southpaw used it.
The crappy aftersales service was one of the reasons I sold it - that and the fact that I wanted the cash to go towards buying my S and B scope.

I'm off to Washington in early September and will relieve my pistol withdrawal symptoms then Any range recommendations gratefully received.

Could well have been the right side grip binding on the slide in a left-handed hold. I've noticed some have needed relieving a little to prevent this. Academic now I s'pose......
