ROAST....

Me and a few friends managed to roast a whole pig for the first time. Great fun..loads of beer drunk just during the cooking process alone...

We had a street BBQ and we've been threatening to do a pig roast for years.

Finaly this year we borrowed a roaster from a local pub...bought a pig and.."hey presto"

Started cooking at midnight ready for 2pm the next day....I did the midnight till 5am shift and then the electric motor packed up and it was down to them to turn it by hand

Even so all went well and a great day was had by all

Cheers

Taffy

I'm trying to get em to go for some Venison next year but it's proving difficult...ooh well one step at a time.

Very medieval of you Taff

14 hrs of cooking!
Well done mate. You did it in the right order; think of roasting pig, start cooking then drink beer.
With us it's usually drink beer, think of roasting pig, fall over. Pig never gets bought.

You're an inspiration to all.

Mark

It was a 100lb pig before we removed the head.
We payed 85p on the Lb...£85
We almost payed the same amount for charcoal. There may be a way of cutting costs on buying the charcaol from one place in bulk...we had some from a few different places

They recon a 100Lb pig will feed 100 people with a 4 oz serving each

There was plenty of meat there and it just fell of the bone....

whatta ya thinking

Thanks for the invite mates. But, alas I'll still be scrubbing pots and pans at the Fox and Hounds Tavern for quite sometime. Seems I bought too many P's and Q's for all the lads last Friday night and me with only one quid in the pocket...Gotta pay back that debt ya know.......

OK then guys

We need a range not too far for old crippled Taffster to travel to.
The range needs to either have facilities or allow us to bring and cook a pig there.
Dunno where we stand there at Brecon but you guys may have better idea's
I've seen a BBQ going up there in the winter....

It's way too late to do a summer UKARFcom pig roast....what about a winter one or do we start organising for early next year?

Any idea's

Apart from plenty of " stella"

Zionist....is your passport up to date?
