SCOPE-EYE...Can't believe no one else has asked this so maybe I'm ignorant, but what the heck is your "Bunny Scaring" rifle?  Looks sort of like a Martini-Henry carbine with a different stock, forearm, lever, suppressor and scope...or am I totally off?  (It's one interesting looking gun!)

Not too far from the truth.

Its a BSA Intl Target Rifle - martini action, barrel cut down from 28" to 12.5" (I can keep the front end for a spare!), threaded with a Parker Hale MM1 sound moderator , and a Weaver rail added to the barrel. The 'scope' is a 40mm red dot 'holosight' type of thing, cheap but worth every penny. We can picl up these rifles for about £25-£50 (about $50 -$100) depending on condition, and as I just cut them up, I only take the cheaper ones.

With only the hammer moving this thing is so quiet the rabbits never know what hit them. I've recently been given a gun lamp that normally fits scopes, but I had to fit this to the barrel on this rifle. Still works very well, and now I can shoot well after dark.

I wondered what it was but was too embarased to ask, just in case it was summat I shoulda known...

It does look "different" Matt I'll give you that.

Here's what we were playing with today...My AR with a Russian red dot sight. Now normally we've been using a realy old "single point" sight no one seems to recognise(with a 22lr conversion kit, minimags brilliant results out to 50m) So today we gave this sight a trial on my rifle using a mount on my A2 handle.

First of the sight was too high, it would have been better suited to a flat top reciever.

The variation of reticles was poor and the single dot was too small for practical use.

Aquiring the target seemed to take longer as it took longer to find the "sweet point" where you can see the dot and the target.

Ahh well it was fun trying....

Nice pistols Zionist. That Delta sure looks cute. I had a 45 colt a few years ago when we were allowed. It was a Gov commander in satin finish. It was a joy to shoot. And my 686 6" was nice to shoot too.

Oooh, a Kobra.

I know people that love them. Personally I think they are too big and chunky. Mind, if you find the ret is bad, just detach it, flip up BUIS and throw the Kobra at the enemy!!!

:-)

Oh, and for the posts about Echelon, clicks on the telephone line? I DONT think so, exchanges are computer controlled these days you know, you wouldnt hear a thing, its not some 40's looking bird with wavy hair in the local GPO with a jack field anymore you know. If someone is tapping your phones, you will not know!

Wally,
Go for it, I'm sure he'd like it.

Taffy, re: the M60, believe me, once you've fired one belt-fed machine gun, you've fired them all
You wouldn't enjoy it

You just need a fumble fingered duty operator and you will get a most 'amusing' effect on the line…

I've just turned 18 so I haven't really had the chance to get a FAC yet. So for now all I've got is a Stealth .22 air rifle (can be taken down in seconds to fit into the briefcase)

I may have a hard time getting a FAC as I have to demonstrate "good reason" to our benefactors in the "police". And seeing as the local range was shut down I wouldn't have anywhere to shoot.

I had my eye on a straight pull AR15 carbine

Welcome Blairhous!

If it's straight pull carbines you want, you certainly came to the right place. We have people here who build them!!!

ANdy

Thanks
I sure hope after a while we will not have to settle for nerfed straight pull rifles and carbines. However, more on that in a different thread (stay tuned)

Thanks, one of the main reasons I'm here is to muster support for a grasroots pro-gun movement (see my new thread)

Good Reason is a desire to target shoot. Combine that with a club membership where you can show that you are serious about target shooting and you're in.
So your local range has closed, there should be another one not too far away. Chances are your university will have a target rifle club. If not move south of the border, we still shoot regularly down here.

Unfortunately Strathclyde University is extremely "liberal" (read as "communist") and anti-gun. They don't even have a Conservative party in that University (plenty of communists and "Scottish Socialists" unfortunately)

I do not believe there is any sort of club in my area. I don't know why because we're a very rural area so there should be a club or two around but I have had no luck in finding one.

Try the links above, if still no joy, try the NRA. They have records of all HO approved clubs and if you let them know where you are in the Country they'll find the local clubs for you.
