If you're an Entergy customer you can view this graphic that shows the power outages.  Don't know how often they update.  Little Rock is hammered by outages looks like.

Of course I guess those without power won't see this anytime soon.

I've been keeping an eye on this as well.  As best as I can tell, it is pretty well up to date, almost "real time".

My wife just told me that she heard we were looking at "several days" until power was restored.  Has anybody else heard this??

Judging from the widespead outages it could be several days for some.  I've seen reports that suggest some might not see power until 2013 but I'm sure those are the most rural, hardest hit areas.  Judging from that map looks like I was lucky enough to be in an area, for whatever reason, never lost power.     Comcast is out however.  Based on some of the Facebook pics I've seen of LR there are trees down everywhere so I assume lines are cut all over the place.

I read the "several days" thing on Entergy's site. Been out since 11 last night for me.

I think Benton Utilities buys its electricity from Entergy. Hard to tell if the Benton outage is due to Entergy of some substation outage of Benton Utilities.

Anyone heard any rumors?

Other funny thing is the AT&T towers around here must have some week batteries with no gen back up. Cell phones were out around Benton for most of the day. They were working fine around 3 this morning but by 8 or so they were out.

Well this doesn't sound good for those without power in LR.  LR is last on the list to be worked!  Up to 7 days before power is restored.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Power company Entergy says it could take up to a week to restore power to 160,000 homes still in the dark as of Wednesday.

According to CEO and President Hugh McDonald, day one was spent mostly assessing the damage - a process he says is only about 10 percent complete.

Entergy Arkansas has about 400 employees across the state working to restore power. The company is calling in 400 more crews (about 4,000 workers) from surrounding areas to help.

One of the main problems, says McDonald, is traffic on Interstate 40. Road conditions and fallen tree limbs are making it difficult for crews to get where they need to go.

Another issue is figuring out how to get to the damage, and fixing it from that point. When power will be restored to individual households depends mainly on the terrain and type of damage.

"We expect the following communities that were affected by the storm to have power today will be Helena and Russellville," says McDonald. "Tomorrow will be Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, Lonoke, Marion and Forrest City. Friday will be Blytheville and Jacksonville. The remaining areas, Hot Springs, Little Rock areas and Malvern areas, those will be up to the seven day period."

Entergy customers can text "REG" to 368374 to receive alerts when power crews will be in their area.

I guess we got lucky. We're one of the few homes in the area that has power. If we'd lost power we'd be ok as we have a generator tied in and plenty of fuel, and even if we didn't, I can always just stay at the FD with my family.

Crews are NOT 10 people, someone is blowing some serious smoke.

Most utilities have slashed the hell out of the actual working departments, bad stuff happens and customers are screwed due to long outage times. Even worse if lots of materials are needed because they have cut back on that also.

Took a drive to HS, to go check on my folks. Malvern was w/o power, till you hit hwy 51 (butterfield ) . Wal mart , valero, was out of power. I'm between glen rose and hwy  270 junction toward sheridan. Lines down all thru 67 south.
