Made my a completely different factory (Prvi Partisan). About the same price as XM193 currently.

AR15.com Ammo Forum Review

Good disection, etc. Some are having problems with cycling, some aren't, but the velocity is there.

Try some.

From what I've read in that and other threads it's overpriced, unreliable, and I have yet to read anything conclusive about it's accuracy. Apparently most people are either plinking with it (crazy since it’s over $200 a case!) or are having so many problems they can't manage some test groups. The first thread I ever saw on it was about a kaboom, but I don’t know where the thread is or the final analysis of the rifle was.

Therefore, I'm letting NoAim be the guinea pig this time around.

He is one of the few medium/long range AR shooters here.

Sure, I'll be a guinea pig. Who wants to buy my ammo for me? I figure some good 100, 200, and 300 yard groups comparing Wolf M193, BH 52gr OTM and BH 55gr FMJ. My 20" doesn't do anything above 69 gr. well (1/9 twist). However, the Bushy M4 is a 14.5" 1/7 twist and is stock (no fancy buffers/springs). And, my 10.5" upper should be here this Friday.

If I can get a lead on it, I'll test it out. I have no chrony though. If someone wants to step up and let me borrow or come out the range with me....

And, I wouldn't be able to do it for about 1.5 weeks (weekend is spent with family this time).

FYI, the "WOLF BLEW UP MY RIFLE" thread never went anywhere. One guy posted that his friend across the country suffered, but then never replied or followed-up with details.

Some people are getting 200-300 rounds with no failures at a time, and others can't get a whole mag to cycle.

I heard it was good stuff, doesn't smell like cat piss or smoke as much as old steel case wolf. But the price is up around WWB.

"Just what I have heard" Ya never know.. I heard a nekkid lady jumped out of one too.

Only 31 people in the ammunition forum have reported ACTUALLY using it themselves.

It's still too new and unknown to buy it by the case at the asking price.

And why is all the .223 ammo in Brillo's list skyrocketing in price? It's becoming too expensive to shoot much.

seems like it is too expensive.  the battle pack is a nice storage plus.

$0.20/rnd?

No Aim - what were you saying you were paying for Black Hills blue box per case?

For 9 bucks, I'll take 1k of BH blue box over 1k Wolf 193 any day and twice on Sunday...  As already mentioned a few times, it's too expensive.  I'd buy it were it about $150 a case, maybe.

eta; maybe

Wrong Wolf jackass.

The main advantage of this stuff is the increased velocity. It's using M193 bullets, and velocities approx 150 fps higher than the Black Hills. For me, it doesn't mean much except for more flash out the front, but others really want the extra oomph.

Personally, if I was worried about self-defense loads in short barreled carbines, I'd look more towards the 75gr and  77 grain loadings.

But the fact remains for 5.56 pressures/loadings there are only two readily available brands. Wolf Gold and Q3131A.

Clinton bombed Serbia to divert attention away from the Monica scandal. I expect the occasional kaboom round will leave the factory and head for America every pallet or two. From past experience the Serbs will get over this in a thousand years or so. Until then, beware of their ammo!
