Looks like some of us are getting together on the 8th at Charlie Elliott WMA range.

Original thread here.

Some guys can't make the 8th, so there just might be another group of guys going to CE on the 15th as well.

SOP for these shoots is to be at the range to setup around 09:30.  Shooting starts at 10:00.  Some of us are in the habit of meeting at the Cracker Barrel off exit 82 around 08:00 for breakfast.  We leave there around 09:00.

I'll be going to the CB.  If you plan to hit the CB, let me know so we can make sure to get a table big enough for everyone.

I'll post directions shortly.

Yes, I can make it. I will let you know about CB closer to the 8th. It sounds like fun. Thank you.

ByteTheBullet  (-:

Edited to add: Are we still doing hOOters? ARH said he is interested also, in shooting and hOOters, not sure about CB. Don't want to speak for him.

Address/info for CB:

Conyers, GA
I-20 , Exit# 82
I-20 & State Route 138
1182 Dogwood Drive
Conyers, GA 30094
Located off I-20
* Bus & RV Parking Available
(770) 785-7600

Directions to CE:
If driving from Atlanta, I-20 east to exit 98. Take a right and go down the road (south). You will go until you get to the town of Mansfield, GA. From the train tracks in the middle of town you will travel 2.7 miles, when you will come to a sign for Charlie Elliot WMA. Take a left, and the range is 1.4 miles down the road, on the left. The paved road will turn into a dirt road just before the range. There is a sign indicating where the range is, and you can see it from the road. The range is about 1 hour driving time from downtown Atlanta.

About the range:
This is a free, WMA (Wildlife Management Area) range.  They have separate pistol (50-yards) and rifle (100-yards) ranges, both with covered benches.  You will need a target holder (real estate signs work well - hint, hint) and eye & ear protection.  No metal targets.  Anything else goes.  You must clean up any trash (including targets, just be aware if you plan on shooting the Halloween pumpkin!).

Where are you located? Bradd_D has ridden with me before, but he hasn't axed yet for this shoot. I am very close to Hot Shots in Marietta.

Great to hear it, WarDawg!  We've got a good bunch of guys in the group and would love to have you join us.

I should have my RRA Varmint upper by then , so I plan on breaking in that barrel.  I'll also probably bring my FAL to try some other .308 loads for hunting.  I recently scoped the FAL and I'm still trying to decide on ammo for possibly deer hunting with the FAL.  Another AR or two will also probably be thrown into the car just in case.

Bradd_D and zzxx99 will have their FF RAS and Daniel Defense setups, respectively.  I'm trying to decide on a FF setup for my CQB carbine.  If you've bring any FF systems with rails be prepared to answer some questions for me.

Well, all this tomfoolery has made me consider doing the haul in from Rome just to see you guys again. Let me see if I can talk the wife into letting me off for the day

She never really argues w/me about this stuff. Just gives me dirty looks-----for a week

Looks as if both possible shoot days are right in the middle of my work week for the month of Nov.  So its going to be a big no for me this month.

Whats the matter does no one else work straight third shift for a company that thinks your kind (aircraft maint. tech)is worth a dime a dozen?

Darnit did I use my outside voice again?

Gotta get that fixed.

Everything must die.  It's the Cirsle of Life, silly boy.

Seriously, maybe it's time once again for a show of hands for meeting at CB.  I'll get there around 07:45 and get us a table.  However, I'll need to know how many we're expecting.

For vedubin01.  Just take 316 to I-85.  Get off on the I-285 exit heading East towards like Stone Mountain.  Take that to I-20 East.  The CB is at exit 82.  Get off on the exit, take a left over the bridge, turn left at the light for the ACESS ROAD (not back on I-20).
