As of now some things are available, but it is still under construction.

There are trap ranges, skeet ranges, a 200 yard rifle range, a pistol range, and archery with a 15 foot tower "for simulated tree stand".

The shotgun stuff is public, on Sat-Sun and Wednesdays.  The other ranges are for members only, except for events.  Members get a key and can go when they want.  I also think they "embellished" that list a little.  But still, they have a lot of pistol ranges, and are planning to add many more.  And about 25 covered benches on the rifle range.

Big +1 for The Range
Frank the owner is GREAT people as is Dean the "Spec Ops type / top IDPA competitor" mentioned above.  Just do people know the 3 Gun matches Dean runs are "IDPA"ish, so they have a 10 round mag limit even for the long guns. This actually works well, I just don't want folks to show up expecting something else.

Flintlock Valley Shooting Range
Located off Forest Road 576, the Flintlock Valley Shooting Range has two shelters with shooting benches [six I think]. The rifle range is 100 yards and the pistol range is 50 yards. The range is open seven days a week. Range hours are one half hour after sunrise until one half hour before sunset.

It's located about 35 miles south of Thomasville with the entrance off of Hwy. 109.
Take 109 south from Thomasville. When you pass under Hwy. 49 you're 10 miles from the entrance. Continue until you see a BP convenience store on the right, one mile further is the Uwharrie entrance on your right. Turn here, then take the first dirt road to the right at the campsite area. The hours have changed. It's 9am - 6 pm Mon-Sat, except every third Tuesday, as they will be closed. New pistol range setup, with covered stalls, and targets on pully system. No rapid fire, three seconds between shots. Apparently the people that live around get pissy.  Also, new sign, so it's much easier to find off of Breazeale.

Moss Knob just outside Cullowhee.  Just past Western Carolina University you turn right at the Jackson County Rec center.  Follow Tilley Creek Road until you see the sign on the left directing you to the range.  The sign is actually angled away from you coming in this direction, it's about 5-6 miles after you make the turn at WCU.    You turn left onto a gravel road and go another 5 miles or so.  Not a big range but it's on federal land so it's open to the public.  About 8-10 concrete benches that are covered, Porta John on the premesies.

I just went there for the first time today and there is no sign that will direct you off of Tilley Road but I got lucky and found it. To get there, follow Tilley Road all the way up and over the mountain. Just as you start coming off the peak there will be the Macon County/Jackson County boundry line sign and the range is the first gravel road on the left after that sign. Just go another 5 miles or so as described above and then there will be a sign directing you to the range.

So she shot the M-14, cool. There were a couple of guys there shooting before you got there and we tried each others weapons. One of them had a Ruger .44 and it had a descent little kick to it but it was also a very accurate. Anyway, I let them shoot my SAR 2 and one of them even tried the 52 but the other one wouldn't go near it lol. I guess the loud boom coming out if the muzzle scared him because I tried to hand it to him a few times and he wasn't going no where near it. Next time I'll bring my L1A1 and you can compare it to the M-14 recoil wise and I bet the M-14 will feel a lot harder than it. The adjustable gas system on the L1A1 gives it a really smooth recoil and I can say from experience that it's definitely not as hard as the 52 you shot.

Updated range in Greenville, NC opened this weekend. It's called Paradise Valley Gun and Skeet Range. It's on Hwy 43 about 15 miles east of Greenville and about 10 miles west of Vanceboro  just by the Blackjack-Simpson turnoff and near the Calico Crossroads. There is a sign for it right beside the church. $15 per day to shoot I believe is the cost. I am going to try and get out there this weekend to zero my AR and if so I should have better details.
