*****ATTN : NEW DATE*****

Due to sceduling conflicts, we are pushing the match out one week.  We apologize for the change, but hope that the extra time will give some of you more time to plan on attending the match, and some of you more time to practice.

The next Tactical Rifle Match will be held on February 25, 2006 at the
Carolina Star ( www.carolinastar.com ).  Registration will begin at 0800,
with a safety briefing at 0815, and shooting to begin immediately
thereafter; come prepared to shoot.  This will be a shooters match,
consisting of four COF's with a minimum round count of 80, so bring lot's of
ammunition.  The targets will consist of bowling pins, steel plates and
standard IDPA targets.  The reactive targets will be scored up / down, and
the IDPA targets will require a minimum of two scoring rounds.  All COF's
will be shot "Vickers Count" unless otherwise noted (Shoot till you're
happy. )  The fee for the match will be $20.

The first COF will be a modified "El Prez" drill utilizing three IDPA
targets at seven to ten yards.  This stage will require multiple magazine
changes and head shots.  It ought to get everybody warmed up.

The second COF will be our barricade stage.  The shooter will be required to
engage reactive targets and IDPA silhouettes from a barricade position.
Distance to targets for this stage will be forty yards. There should be
enough "friendly faces" to make things interesting.

The third COF will be our distance stage.  The shooter will be required to
engage reactive targets and IDPA silhouettes from various shooting
positions.  Distance to targets for this stage will range from fifty to two
hundred yards.

The fourth stage will be our Shoot House.  Targets will be placed from
"across the room" to CQB/CONTACT/POWDER BURN distances.  Kick in the door,
negotiate the house, engage the targets; it doesn't get any better than
that.

As usual our standard rules apply:

1) NO STEEL CORE OR AP AMMUNITION IS ALLOWED ON THE RANGE.  If there is any
question, don't bring it.

2) One Gun - One Optic.  Our matches are shot open class, with the only
restriction being that the competitor must use the same weapon, in the same
configuration throughout the entire match.  Gun failures / malfunctions will
be handled at the discretion of the RO.

There will be guns and gear available for those that need them.  We ask that
you provide new, commercial .223 ammunition for use in these weapons.

This will be a very good match, but depending on the turn-out could run
longer than usual.  Please bring drinks / snacks as you see necessary.

Please contact me with any questions.
Hope to see you there!

- Russell

bump for rabbit

I probably could get a car load but the drive (from Greensboro) would be a killer.

If none of you would go (and you know who you are) I'd just go with my dog, but who'd pay for the gas?

Notice the new date of 2/25/06.  Yes, it's my fault.  I really gotta start keeping a calendar.  Gonna be in Tennessee that weekend and as of yet I have been unable to figure how to be in two places at the same time   Besides, Rabbit9 would be lost without me

Okay folks, just a reminder for the match tomorrow.  SCOOP and I spent all day setting things up.  The COF kicks ass, if I do say so myself.

It is E-V-I-L.

The latest forecast calls for afternoon showers, so the match is on.  The long distance stage on the rifle range will take the longest to shoot, so we'll shoot the first two stages and the Shoot House (this is the best one yet ), and save the long distance stage on the rifle range for last.

PLEASE COME PREPARED TO SHOOT!!!

We know that we'll be working against the clock, so we want to get a fast start, and move along as quickly as possible.  You can help us by having your gear together (mags loaded, etc.) and being ready to shoot.  We'll alos need as much help as possible with pasting targets, and resetting steel / pins.

See you in the morning!

Thirty + shooters in the pouring rain.

Man you guys are hard core.

We really appreciate the support for what we're doing, and hope everyone that attended had a good time.  We'll have the scores up on www.csrapistol.com in the next couple of days, and I'll post a link to the pictures as soon as I have it.

We'll post the information for the next match as soon as it's available.

Thanks again!
