I'm around KC.  I'm in trial that day, but its also my 29th birthday, so I'm up for something as long as we don't stay out too late (court 9am Wednesday too).

Happy B-day Duke! one more year and you can start bitching about how it sucks getting old. Of course us real old timers will simply laugh at you but you can still impress the young-uns....

Don't worry about it Gary, I've already gotten to the bitching about how old I am stage and I'm now past it.

The funny thing is, I'm not kidding.  When I was a high school kid I was mad at the world's idiocy and depressed as hell.  My mom finally sent me to a headshrink.  I told the guy that I just didn't have any hope for the future, that I was looking ahead at what my life was going to be like 50 years from then and it was going to suck and there was nothing I could do about it, I felt like I was doomed to banality.

After a few sessions, no shit, the shrink told me that I had just had a mid-life crisis at age 17.  I had projected my mental image of my own future so strongly that I had seen the futility of the rat race in a way that most men only realize when they hit 40.  I was always precocious and had a strong sense of history as it relates to the future (I wound up with a degree in history some years later).

So, actually, that's a stage of my life that has already been met and defeated, at least once.  I'm no longer mad at the world's idiocy and depressed, I'm mad at the world's idiocy and enjoying it as much as possible.

And now you know a little bit more about what makes me tick. "E Pluribus Nukem".

Fellas, as it turns out, I've discovered that my family has plans for me on my birthday night.  So I'd better bail, the family is expecting me to do their stuff with them.

BaNo, I believe up by KCI. Don't hold me to that though.

IM me if you want to get together.
