IDPA in NoVA - AR15.COM

Where is a good place in northern Virginia to shoot IDPA? I know they shoot once a month at the NRA HQ range, but the classifier matches are held infrequently. Are there any other local IDPA matches? How about classifier matches?

I'd like to start getting into IDPA. My shooting is improving, but I think the stress of competition would help even more.

I'm pretty sure that "The Range" in Stafford county has matches ever other Wed. night. I believe they are on Rt. 1, and you need to call to reserve a spot.

That's about as far north as I have gone.....I get nervous going any further north than the Rappahonock........occupied territory and all......

Seriously, good luck finding some guys to shoot with up there.....I've been shooting IDPA since it started and it's a great sport...and you're right, the pressure of competition will make you better.

GotM4, 9x19, and Cliffy109 and I think Shivan all shoot IDPA and are up your way.

Thanks, Templar! I saw your thread in the Hometown section. I'd like to get down to that shoot sometime (can't remember the city at the moment), but it's a bit far for a regular trip.

www.shootersparadise.com They hold them once a month. Phil Strader (Grand Master IPSC shooter) owns the store and runs the matches. He's also a US Capitol Police officer and firearms instructor.
