i have to agree i wasnt very impressed.  Mostly went o look for a barrel for my dads fal, but they wanted 80 bucks for one, that was beat to all hell.  They pratically destroyed it trying to get it off the recevier, and the guy has the nerve to say stupid britsh to my dad(He was born and raised in England).  You should have saw his face when my dad said "maybe if the stupid American had the right tools to take it off, it would be in good condition."  on a lighter note, i got a couple 30 round ar mags for 15 each.

I guess it was a good idea on my part not to go. I went shopping with my girlfriend instead. $11 is way too much to get in to look at Beanie Babies and beef jerky. I think Im going to start making the trek to Reno for some good shows.

There's only one big very good Gunshow that I always go to. That's the Crossroads of the West in Del Mar in Southern California. Good selection and good product. It's 8X the size of our gunshows here in Vegas.

Cheers, Badnews_III

I don't understand what the deal is with Vegas.  I mean we have a good firearms following here, why can't they bring decent Gunshows here?

I mean CES, COMDEX, Porn Convention, Construction Equipment Convention, etc....sheeshhh.......We have 'em all.

Why not guns?

Yup, the show seriously sucked. Picked up some odds and ends (a weasel ball for use in a predator hunting decoy), some powder, etc.

The show only took up half the hall.  Seems to get smaller and smaller every year.  I don't think the lower parking lot even filled up.

What I don't get is why the f**k do exhibitors come from who-knows-where to lay out a huge collection of safe queens but they aren't for sale?  I'd rather see more jerky huts in place of the APCs and other such junk.  At least they can sell me something.

Prices on guns that were there were all pretty much out of line.  Model '94s in .45 colt were listing at $450 for "slightly used."  Hell, my local shop tags them new for $295.  Hell, come to think of it, I don't think I saw a single gun there that was new that didn't have a price less than MSRP.  I made one guy an offer of $600 for a new Springfield Compact "Loaded" (what I'm planning on ordering one for in a couple weeks) and he moaned about how that was less  than his cost and MSRP is $700-something.  I told him he was full of shit as dealer cost runs around $550 for that gun.

If I want to get ripped off I'll go to American Shooters.

Reloading components were at decent prices from a couple vendors.  Except for tools and presses.  One fool was selling used Lee dies for more than I've ever seen them list for new.  Actually, that seemed to be the practice for most of the reloading hardware.  And what's with the bullshit stories about how they have to get at least x for it because their cost was y once I point out the same product--but new--lists for half their price in the Midway catalog.  Oh and to see vendor's faces turn red when the $35 20 round AR-15 ProMags they are selling are currently $12 new in CTDs catalog.

More sunglasses and knives than last year's show.  Seemed like less jerky huts though.  Admission was up to $12.  I'm thinking that this will be the last Claude Hall show I'll be attending.  I think it's time to make plans for a Phoenix Crossroads show I hear so much about.

I'd never even think of buying a gun through a dealer at Claude Hall, the jerk off who does the transfers wants like $35 at least for it. Private party is the only way to go.

That jerkoff is CCS guns who just opened the new shop on rainbow and sahara.  This is the guy that wanted $100 bucks to do an out of state transfer earlier this year!  Yeah Right!

I seemed to notice the prices sky high on Saturday too.  There was some real crap sitting on the tables.  Picked up some black powder supplies though.  The guy was very helpful explaining things.  Also picked up a lower parts kit for my AR47 from American Spirit.  I only need about half the kit but when we added everything up that I needed, it only came to $6 less than the whole kit so I bought it.  When I got home I quickly discovered that the kit was missing the selector!(that I need)  Back I went to a 1000 apologies.  Oh well, my fault.  I should have checked before I left.
