Rule #1: Don't phuck with the police.
Rule #2: Don't refuse lawful "instructions" from the police. (Example: Drop the gun!!) Rule #3: Don't phuck with the police. Rule #4: Don't be a "shit-house" lawyer who "thinks" he/she is a Constitutional Scholar. Rule #5: Don't phuck with the police. I grew up in Seattle, the Central District, back in the late 70s when the cops REALLY kicked ass and I never had any problems with them at all... A matter of fact, I was given several breaks by them since I wasn't a dick. BTW, I fly home about 3-4 times a year and mainly stay in the Federal Way area and there isn't a shortage of losers in that area. It’s funny, we complain about "our" cops, but I lived in Germany and Italy and their police would not think twice in stomping the crap out of you for not listening to them and God help you if you are armed, even with a pocket knife!!! They we turn you into an oversized #2 lead pencil!!! So in the "Big Picture" I think we got it pretty good over hear!!! |

I agree with you 100% and I'm not proud of it either... You're right... It is what it is. I wish we lived in a perfect world, but we don't. BTW, I went to Franklin High and that area has always been pretty rough and in my view, the cop did the right thing, but he could of handled it different too, but he didn't, but as soon as that other female made forceful physical contact with that officer, it was on... Period. Anytime somebody... like the police and/or the military, uses physical force against a human, by its nature, it looks ugly, but if we didn't have the police and/or the military the world would be a free for all with the rule of the jungle being the baseline for survival. As for me, I see it as a neccessary evil... Maybe someday stupidity will be breed out of us, but I'm not holding my breath on that!! |

I have no issues about being polite with law enforcement and the military. My experience has so far been good.
They are both necessary. I also do not choose to have LE and mil rule over a country, I left such a country to be free. Commie, dictatorship, and police states I am sure is not what any American want. However, even with ROE's and training in place, tragic incidents occur due to improper application of ROE or training. LE and mil in this country are paid to serve the public, not to be above the law, and not to shoot first and call a lawyer later. Unfortunately it seems the pattern is that way lately: 1. The deaf / hard of hearing, and mentally challenged carver 2. The dead tasered man 3. The shooting of a tasered man reversing in his vehicle (when his foot was probabily flailing and pushing the gas pedal as a result of tasering). It also seems to be happening with the class of the unfortunate when they seem to need the most help. That is what I am having issues with. ETA: for clarity. |

Our system is too weak on criminals. If some of the shitbags put themselves in the position to where they get killed, seems like we're evening the score. Are you a "criminal apologist"? Are you happy with the state of affairs, i.e. so many criminals running free among us? When did all this pussification happen? I'm just fine with cops ENDING criminals. |

As for the system... No I don't think it's perfect but I will take this system over any others in the world. Sure sounds like it. I had no idea you were a member of the ACLU. I never said that. I acknowledge that mistakes HAVE been made, and it's a shame. I agree, as fucked up as our system is, it IS the best one around. That doesn't make it any less fucked up, though.
