Washington was also ranked 33rd smartest state in 2006.

Also, we ranked #4 in personal income growth. So now you know who those rich folks are.

The city I was born in is a lot lower than it used to be, at #14 (Youngstown, OH).

...and Youngstown doesn't even have 100,000 people.

So that's where Tacoma lands, huh?  I wonder how the cities would rank for violent (non-lethal) crime?  Would Lakewood, Spanaway, and/or Tillicum make it onto the list?

Spokane Valley seemed pretty sketchy when I lived there.  Sometimes I wish there were more people murdered in Seattle...

33rd Smartest...    I knew there was something wrong up here...

I've used Cansus data to determine my address for the last 6 years.  Works great and all you need to know about a particular area is in there.

Youngstown is/was rough.

My hometown of Dayton is not much better either.

Those were the 2004 stats. The 2005 list has Dayton at #35 and Y-town at #4.

Ohio, a good place to be from...

I grew up ( 15yrs ) just 15 miles south of 'dead end Dayton'. My dad still lives in Miamisburg OH & I have aunts / uncles cousins all over the Miami Valley.

Dayton is a rough town ( W. 3rd st ) & Youngstown is just as bad if not worse. I do not miss that area a bit. I have alot of kin folk back in that region and usually visit once every few years... and when the trip is over I am so glad to be flying back to the PNW.
