What would qualify as being 'qualified'? I have taken been through many carbine classes, but not one through the college. Would that be 'qualified'?
I'd be interested to attend. Let me know, thank you.. |
This class is going to be available to students in the following order:
1- active duty LEO 2- former students of Phil Hayes Patrol Rifle 3- former students of GCC Patrol Rifle 4- students of other schools like Gunsite and Thunder Ranch I'll confirm with Phil but this class will probably be limited to 12-15 students. |
if it doesn't conflict with anything else I have going on, I'll be there.....allready have a lot of classes and matches coming up in April.
We must have one LEO in the class. I'm waiting on confirmation from him.
Tentative dates are April 16-17 from Noon-9:00 PM. Saturday may run late. Class will be limited to 12 people. |
So this time Jason you take the pictures - What's the cost going to be?
Should be the same as any other class from GCC at $95. Frangible ammo is a little pricey and you'll need at least 100 rounds. |
From the bad experence department:
Don't buy PMC frang ammo. Winchester frang is very good. Jason, Check on pistol frang for transitions in the house. Jay |
I'll have to confirm with Phil but he gave me the impression standard pistol ammo was OK in the house. |
fixed! |
Whoa... what happened? I didn't know we had a chance to register yet.
We haven't registered yet. Phil told me to come up with 12 qualified people with at least one LEO and the class would be a go. Jerry said he would do the admin stuff to make it happen. That's were we are now. Waiting for the admin stuff from Jerry. If something opens up I'll let you know. |
Jerry just emailed me and said as soon as he gets back in town he will submit the paperwork and give me the super double secret section numbers to register. I will then pass them on to everyone on the list.
Group buy on frangible ammo???
I_B, Did you find out if we need pistol frangible yet? |
I was thinking the same thing. ammoman has frang for 159$/500 or 250$/840 Rob |
You never chimed in. Do you want your name on the alternate list? I'm really bummed there aren't more slots. Phil originally said 10 and I bumped him up to 12. He said beyond that there would be long delays while running people through the shoot house. Still checking on the need for frangible pistol ammo. |
Yup. |
The last class had 4 people that just didn't show up for the class, they didn't call to drop out so that others could get a chance. That's bullshit.
So if you sign up and can't make it, call and cancel so that others can fill your slot. |
Those were probably people that aren't members here. |
Actually, a couple were members here. |
Yup, we had 18 of the 20 show up. The two that didn't were Colt-653 and notgrownupyetSBR556.
The class was still full when I checked Thursday. I was going to post any new openings. They must have dropped after that. I'm not going to let that happen this time. |
That's right, 18 the first day and only 16 the second day (one had a weapon problem, and I guess one didn't like the weather) So the only 2 that didn't show at all were AZ-Arfcomers. |
Guys, I had dropped on wednesday.
I couldnt post here because of modum problems. Was my name still on the list for the class on saturday? Paul. I am sorry that someone else couldn't get into my slot last weekend. Beleive me I missed not getting to play in the rain and hail with you guys. That would have been a hoot. |
Everyone hold off on ordering frangible ammo until we get the numbers from Jerry and are sure the class is a go and I talk to Phil to see if we need frangible pistol as well.
DUDE!!!! UPS Just Dropped off 5000 rounds! |
Standing By. |
MarkM if you need to sell some, I'm sure we can find people that use it. I've never tried it so I would take some off your hands just to play with it.
Jerry just emailed me. We should have the super double secret numbers by this evening or Monday at the latest. Once I get registered and it works I'll IM everyone the numbers.
I hate that I missed this thread till it was too late, I was soooooo looking forward to this class. I despise all of you for being more attentive than I am.
w00t! |
Me too. I thought those of us who were students of Phil's in the last class would have had seniority since it's kind of a part 2 to his class. |
I have a mini-30 and 4 30 round clips is that good enough |
To disqualify you.... I claim his spot... |
Jerry didn't get the numbers from GCC admin yesterday. Hopefully, Monday we can start to register.
Jerry said that when you call to register they will tell you the class is closed. You are to say that it is restricted and you are one of the 12 allowed to enroll. They should then sign you up. I will give you Jerry's cell phone number and he said they could call him to confirm. |
One of the LEOs can't make it.
notgrownupyetSBR556 now has a spot. |
