Interesting!!  I think your irons are set for about 600.  Hehehhehe

I like the ACOG on it though.

Indeed. A taller front post is in order.

Maybe a shorter one?

+1, a taller front post and re-set the elevation knob should be good to go. Neat set up.

You want shorter.

What distance is that for?

I bet your rear aperture is wobbly - not good.

Nice rifle by the way.

I would just leave the irons alone and use the scope as intended.  But that's just me.

looks like he is set for 1200 yards

You are going to want a cheek piece on that thing if you expect to hit anything..

The cheek weld police has shown up.  Hhehehhehehe.  Personally, I've shot with optics mounted on top of the carry handle of my A2, which is pretty darn high, and I've shot some decent groups.  Even though it's more of a chin weld.  I realize that is not the optimum, but it is also not impossible to make decent hits without a cheek riser.  My M1A scope sits kind of high, maybe not as high as that, but pretty high, and I can get it to shoot pretty well.

Yeah, that's what I would have said too.

But I shot it two days ago... and again this afternoon... and it's just fine.

I would definitely say that both eye relief and optic height are at the maximum of acceptable... but good enough.

I hit everything I wanted to today... all in all this is a great tool to launch M80 ball as I had intended... ranging reticle to 600 is perfect.

The mount is rock solid and the scope is holding zero.

Glad she shot good for you, and nice field pics,

It doesn't look as high when you see the whole rifle,,,,

Your front sight should be this height for a SOCOM

If it has a regular M1A front sight, it is too tall.

So how does looking through that scope feel in the sitting and prone positions?
