Put a few hundred rounds through the Socom II yesterday.  My previous rifle was a 'loaded' M1A, so I'm accustomed to the platform.  Now I'm not one of these guys who takes a few shots at the bench, measures everything, and scratches his chin over it.  We shoot at 8" hanging steel plates at 100 and 200 yards, offhand.  Using the iron sights (and the giant aperture you get on the Socom) this rifle can consistently ring the plate with ease at either range.  Next trip we're moving everything to 200 and 300 yards - can't wait.

I've got around 500 or so rounds of ADI and SA surplus through mine so far and IT ROCKS!!!

Brought home a new SOCOM II yesterday...painted it tan, dropped an M68 on it and a SF Milenium 9v...waiting on the proper low-mount LaRue ring as the one on it is just a LaRue scope ring I had laying around for instant gratification,  and am shopping for a SAGE Mk 14 EBR stock.
