Rarely does a day go by that I don't pop in my reloading room and do something.  A lot of the time is due to some inspiration that I picked up on here, whether it was a subject topic or something that someone may have mentioned in their reply.

Today's reloading interest involved something Angus6 mentioned in a thread a few days ago, and that's using Hornady locking rings to switch dies back and forth on his 1050.  I never used Hornady's locking rings, and in fact pretty much stayed away from locking die rings due to most of them boogering up the die threads somewhere along the line.  An exception might be Dryflash's die ring mod with the lead shot.  I picked up some Hornady lock rings.  In short, I wish I would have done it a long time ago!  Those things are great!

So I spent my morning getting my .223 case prep dies out of my 650's tool head and setting up the case preparation and reloading die set up with the lock rings for the 1050.  The lock rings are a lot cheaper than an additional tool head and pretty quick to change out.  Maybe not quite as fast as a $200 tool head, but fast enough for the savings!

Too bad I didn't have the rings last week when I prepped close to 5 gallons of 223 for a good friend!  It would have been more efficient on the 1050, instead of once through the 650 for sizing / decapping and trimming and once through the 1050 for swaging.

By the way, I think Angus6 is a bad influence.  He has been responsible for me spending a good chunk of change with his common sense ideas!
So, what did you do today in the world of reloading?

Henny I think I picked up the Hornsdy ring thing from  MIA member Flamethrower , wished he'd pop back in alot of good 1050 info from him and ReefRaider to be had

Will be setting the 1050 up for .308 to deprime and swagge for a buddy later today and ordered 4k of 7.62 brass

Nothing. Ive got 2k 9mm 147gr plated fp's I got from RMR and instead of firing up the 550, Ive been searching and comparing all the conflicting load data I have for em...

Well I found out at the range this morning that 47.5 grs of BL-C-2 driving 150 gr .308 FMJ bullets is too hot of a load for a M1A.

By the way, I ordered a Super 1050 earlier this week.

Trimmed, chamfered and deburred a batch of brass for range time tomorrow.  Still need to load the cases.

I also sprinkled the trace powders from a couple of 1 lb jars on the lawn, does that count?

nothing

I have more 9mm/45acp/308 brass prepped and ready to go (atleast 2-3k each) but im trying to finish off my .223.  Only problem is i have about 2k done and 8k left to PREP.  even with my prep station, it gets old quick.  Ive tried to do the whole watch tv and do it thing, but after 400-500 rounds, my hands are killing me.  maybe I should fly my nephews in and have them do them for me.

I converted over the 550 last night to large primer and this morning I ripped off 100 rounds of Dillon 9x25 and 100 rounds of 50 Beowulf to be used at the range this weekend.

It's fireball time!

ETA, I also loaded 100 460 Rowland for shits and giggles :)

Well lets see,
Ive loaded about 1800 45acp on the 550B,  230gr extreams over 4.5gr tight group. sorted a  5 gal bucket of brass and ordered another 2k of extream's. all in the last 2 weeks. looking at about 150 /22-250 over H380 and a  seirra 52 gr bthp. and 1000 + 115gr extream HP's 9mm over 4.8 gr tight group.  those are the plan for the next two weeks. But work has been interfearing this week.

Made some 300 blk today. Cutting off necks.

Lubing before sizing.

Tumbled off the lube.

Then trimmed, swaged primer crimp away, uniformed primer pockets, and annealed. Forgot to take pics.

Dryflash3, how are you doing the final trimming of your BLK brass?  I like the jig you have for your bandsaw!  When I get around to getting a blackout, I'll have to make a jig like that too.  Delta bandsaw?  From just the small portion I can see of it, it looks very similar to mine.

I didn't get a whole lot done in the way of reloading today.  I made some empty 223 brass with my SCAR16 and  I did the last of my 223 brass that needed processing.  I also explained to a non reloading friend about processing 223 brass.  I
want to get him into reloading, and I think he's leaning that way.
I then  switched the 1050 back into reloading mode.  It's really simple and quick with Hornady's lock rings.  Once again, thanks Angus6!
I had always thought about the differences in brass webs and primer pockets and the affect it has on swaging.  I thought it might be easier to set up the swager if I could actually see the primer pocket while making adjustments.  So I cut some of the common 223 brass that I have around.  I was pretty surprised that the different manufacturers are pretty similar.  At least with the brass I have, not enough to make a difference in the swaging station.

How about you?  What did you do today in the world of reloading?

Wet tumbled 1 load of 45auto, and 2 loads of 9mm.

Created 100 used 9mm cases from my glock 19.

Bought 3 new gladware containers to consolidate some of my processed brass.

Still so much work to do.... but it's fun, and it keeps me off the streets.

Busy day today:

- Made a couple hundred brass for reloading in .45 and 9mm at the range and picked up over 150 .223 cases of LC brass from the guy in the next lane.

- Got home to find a Midway shipment of 2,000 hornady .224 55gr BTJHP w/c and some .308 for my 30-06.

- Also in the Midway box was my new Worlds Finest Trimmer in .223, so I spent some time setting that and trimming some test brass to length.

- Now waiting for the 200 .223 brass that are tumbling, and tomorrow reloading begins for Monday's trip to the outdoor range,

Decapped 1,000 rounds of LC once fired brass that I recently bought (for no known reason).

All on a single stage- my back is tired..

Oh, the added bonus is the primers pockets are crimped.

I need to pay more attention to what I buy in the future.

Replaced my dillon powder sensor with something more practical. GOODBYE Over Charged rounds.

Thinking about redoing my bench. Move the 5 & 650 to each end, then put the other 550 in the middle. OR on the other bench with the Giraud?
