.50 BMG PRICE LIST
updated November 22nd, 2010

ZEL Tactilie T-2

What this is:
A Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) reference for all commercially available .50 BMG caliber rifles.  MSRP is derived from the respective manufacturer's website, via email and authorized dealers.

What this is not:
This is not a one-stop shopping guide; It is only a starting point.  Purchasing a weapon should never solely depend on the price.  Price is merely one of many factors.  A balance of features, lead time, ergonomics and other issues should be included in any purchase.

What else?:
Please note that some of these rifles can be purchased for less than MSRP.  And some manufacturers accept orders directly from consumers rather than only FFLs.  Also, prices shown are base prices for each respective model.  Different models, even by the same manufacturer, may come packaged with different accessories.  Prices for fluted barrels, bipods, cases, et-cetera are not included unless they are part of the basic package for that specific model.  This post will undergo several edits, send corrections via PM.

Not release date yet.  Evidently the prototype as fired several thousand rounds of the shorter Spotter/Tracer rounds with no problems.  I'm guessing there is a problem getting the short gas system to use full size ammo.  If this is true, maybe a pigtail gas tube will help.  Using such a tube will require a larger full length hand guard running all the way to the front sight tower.  Bye bye 15# gun.

True, however it will still weigh less than the 28.5lb M82A1.

FYI

The Bluegrass Armory Viper is listed as an MSRP of $2895. If you call them and order it directly, the price is actually $2295 + $30 shipping to your FFL.  And unlike the Armalite AR50, the Bipod is included.

Great list the LH bolt options .

Can someone point me toward a RH .50 that is shootable LH , no bolts close to face .....

Also I saw a AR 15 upper sort of thing that apparently goes on top of an AR lower ????

I'll surf through and learn what I can .

Thanks for any info

The list started out as a project just to help me shop.  Figured others might benefit also.  I'm a lefty and wanted a right bolt gun; Left hand on the grip and trigger, right hand does everything else.

None of the right bolt guns will hit you.  But some will feel awkward because they are close.  Pay particular attention to the guns that load further aft than others.

See the "uppers" section.  They all mount on an AR15 lower.

Great information, thanks!

Do you have any idea which of these manufacturers offer their receivers for sale? I am interested in buying a few receivers as sort of an investment, thinking that 50 calibers will be banned in similar fashion to the '94 AWB. I assume pre-ban dated items would be still legal to own/transfer so I could make some profit.

Does this make sense? How much are the receivers for the manufacturers that sell them independently?

East Ridge State Arms sells their receivers and will sell them in-the-white.

I've got one of their rifles.  Best 1000-yard group so far was 6.75"

Just got off the phone with Peggy at safety harbor, she told me the only lower they sell comes marked "Cal .510 DTC" period. If I build a 50 BMG rifle, with a 50 BMG upper, I don't want it marked .510 DTC. I talked to a couple people, and thought about it, and this just didn't make sense, so I called her back to make sure. She confirmed her assertion was no mistake. :( I really wanted one of these too!

EDIT: I called back a third time to be told that not only was there no recievers in white for sale, but that he never remembered releasing a picture for public consumption. I didn't mind because this thread is pretty old, and I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning :(

Does anyone know if BohicaArms has a email address? Because I'm currently in Iraq, and if he is going to try to call  me on my phone, it's obviously not going to work, so I need to get in touch with him via e-mail... Sorry if I overlooked it on the site somewhere, but I don't think I did.

Thanks guys,

Subject: benchrest models in production?

Hello,
I maintain a BMG price list on AR15.com.  Your new website only shows the Tac-50 as a production model.  Are other models available as standard production?  Please advise of any errors on the page.

Thank you,
Steve

FYI, the link for the Tactilite upper is not working...same thing with the Armalite single shot (look at the link, it's got too many http's in there)

Zel Custom Mfg. has added the Tactilite T2 (magazine-fed) upper to its line.  It uses a 5-round magazine, made by Accuracy International.  Like the Tactilite T1 (single-shot) upper, the T2 features a receiver that is CNC-machined from a single piece of steel billet.  All critical receiver components and the scope rail are machined directly as part of the receiver.  For 2010, the T1 in .50 BMG starts at $1798 and the T2 starts at $2298.  Standard features include: free floating barrel, 7075 quadrail handguard and black CeraKote finish.  Zel Custom offers a choice of barrel length and Lothar Walther barrel upgrades, which impacts pricing.  Complete tech specs can be found here.

As a new comer into the 50 cal world...nice price and link list...I had to sponge the drool off my keyboard...
but given the turn of the year...you will need to update the Armalite one...With the National Match AR-50 A1...it will add one more to the list under ArmaLite...

anyone heard of the Sig SAN 511?

I tripped over it while browsing a LEO/MIL catalog and was wondering about pricing.
