Can they do SS baffles for $250?  That would be a game changer.

1/2 hour drive from my house is considered local to me.

But it's across state lines, that makes it interstate, so we're at the mercy of the federal government.

Seriously, those look nice for $200.    All aluminum baffles?    Is the tube aluminum too?

Form 3 is a form 3 to me. I have one less in stock, in OH

all aluminum construction.

Fixed it for you.

I am confused, does the manufacturer not have to pay a $200 tax to manufacture the suppressor?  If so, how can they sell it for $200.?

Because they are using a tried and proven design that works well.  A lot of the cost you see in other suppressors are due to a ridiculous overhead that some manufacturers keep. Well, that and the R&D that they dump into their designs.  Suppressors don't have to be expensive to work well.

Looks very similar to the Coastal baffles, which means it will be a top performer on a 16" barrel.

you're really going to bitch about that on a 200$ suppressor?

This is when he points out that he made a nicer one for $40 in materials.

Somehow I missed the $40 part.  Who said this?  I guess I am happy to deal with a little extra space after the "I", just not a huge deal at all to me.  And for $200, assuming it works as claimed, I didn't have to buy a lathe or mill.  That seems like a decent deal.

Hope it's quieter than the TAC-65 ... Just shot a TAC65 side-by-side with a YHM Mite on a P22 today and there was no comparison...

And for something to be louder than a Mite is a milestone in and of itself.

My thoughts exactly. For the same price point, I would think this new suppressor will have a very hard time catching on.

I have done the same and the TAC-65 was much quieter than the mite. Granted, the test was on a Buckmark. I was not impressed with the Mite at all.

This.  The mite is poop. Poop I say!

The Mite's problem, to my eye, is that the baffles are too close together. They are closer than any silencer I've ever seen.

Started the process of getting one of these transferred to me yesterday.  The guys at Acme Sports in Seymour, IN seemed to be favorably impressed with it.  Supposedly it's rated for .22mag and the various .17 rimfire iterations.

looks good, i like that the endcaps are a standard hex instead of having to buy expensive takedown tools like on the tac 65. I own a Tac 65 and I love it for the price, and whoever said the tac 65 was much louder than a Mite must have had the baffles backward or something... my Tac 65 is as quiet (to the ear) as any other suppressor side by side, including ones costing three times as much. they are a pain in the junk to clean though. my tac 65 is currently out of comission while i send it back to get some baffles replaced i went about 1k rounds without cleaning it and crushed one or more of the baffles while trying to press them out...

This is when he points out that he made a nicer one for $40 in materials.

If his time is free, I'd like to hire a few like him to work for me.   With time, $40 in materials becomes $200 fairly quick.  With CNC's I used to make a single can in about 4-5 hours (setting up each individual operation for the single one off can),  But I was using code from a CAD design that took me a few hours to make and code up so call that 4 hours additional for the first can.  That means if the person:
A has CNC's and
B has 9 hours worth less than $160

He can then potentially beat the product's value, so really the product is a fairly decent value, even for people with CNC's if their time is worth more than $18 per hour- that of course doesn't factor tooling if you needed to buy any for the project.

As far as the mite the major problem is that the can is very short, and being so short, combined with sinking the hex about .6" deep into the endcap makes it functionally extremely short to the extent that it loses a lot of performance.

It is very hard to make a 4.4" can quiet, and that's why most of the cans on the market are 5" or longer.

The cans from tactical innovations have like .275" bores so a similar can with even a .264" bore would probably sound better.

I live about 10 miles away from Huntertown Arms and are active on the Indiana Gun Owners Forum(INGO)  Audie Murphy is my handle on INGO, I attended a shoot at Izaak Waltons league, organized by a fellow INGO member a few weeks ago and Huntertown Arms were nice enough to attend. They brought a total of 4 firearms for us to try, all were suppressed. A savage 22 bolt rifle, 2 walther p22, and a GSG 1911.We just about ran a full box of Federal bulk through them. Very nice and guiet. I was very impressed by the quality and suppression of their products. I am not associated with them, but I can vouch for the quility of the products they produce. Here is a pic of the firearms and my GSG on the table at the range. Might I add, they are very nice guys, pleasant and very informed and were willing to go over with me on how they can helpme suppress my GSG-5.
