I just turned 21, and got a G19 for my bday. I'm REALLY wanting to get a can for it. I would be going the Trust route. I've already started working on that. I'm thinking of going with a Lone Wolf threaded bbl, and possibly Gemtechs Tundra. Anything wrong with that set up? Anyone recommend anything better? Thanks guys. |
putting a can on my G19 is on the list, but not anything too soon.
consider this a tag. |
Why do you recommend KKM over LW? |
Use a Storm Lake G24 that I had threaded for my G35. Works like a charm.
First choice is always a factory barrel.
I have used Jarvis, KKM and LW and have found the LW to be the best by far. |
I've got a Lone Wolf Dist. barrel in a G19 w/ an AAC Evo-9. It works extremely well, and was pure drop in. The booster in the Tundra is a parts-interchangeable clone of the AAC Evolution booster, so it should work fairly well.
I didn't know the parts were interchangeable, have you personally tried it? |
And thanks! Now I just need to save some cash. |

I actually like my shorter Evo-9 CQC and shoot it more than any other can on my G19. It is louder than all the other cans mentioned in this thread so far, but is the smallest and lightest weight. It is still very quiet. I just prefer the smaller size and keep it on a G19 as a home defense weapon.
I'm using a KKM barrel and like it very much. The more recent LW barrels I've seen appear to be very nice and work well at a cost savings. Mark |

Bad experience (twice) a few years ago but apparently they have, as of late, rectified the problems. I'll give them another chance next time around. |

I just came a little bit. I need a can. |

From YHM's site: "The Wraith 9mm Sound Suppressor is designed to cycle reliably on a variety of popular semi-automatic pistols without the use of expensive recoil enhancing equipment." I guess the G19 isn't one of the "variety of popular semi-automatic pistols". The reason I prefer pistol cans with a booster is for the reliability and all my 9mm pistol hosts have moving barrels. If I was only using the can on a weapon with a fixed barrel, a piston booster system is not needed. Mark |

I've got an AAC Scorpion with a threaded LW barrel on my G19, for the gf as a nightstand gun. As far as I know it is one of (if not the) smallest 9mm suppressors sold. Unfortunately it is a wet suppressor and is only good for a limited number of shots, but since it is meant for home-defense purposes the size benefits outweighed that limitation. Unfortunately I do not have any pics, yet.

For a centerfire pistol can i'd get SWR's Trident.
Not a fan of Gemtech and the SWR has AAC's Evo9 beat. |
No, it will not cycle. FTE |
I definitely do NOT want a can that makes my Glock a single shot.
The Trinity is not supposed to be run without a LID on a Browning style action. It's not something unique to the Trinity. The fixed setup, shown above, is for 9mm guns with fixed barrels, like AR15s, Uzis and such. I've got the Trinity/Lid/Fixed endcap/3 Lug and it's my little whore that goes on all my 9mms, and everything runs right. |
Kel that is one sweet looking can how does it shoot? I like the color match up with the OD Glock.
How much did that set up run you, if you don't mind me asking? |
If that marketing photo is of the "puke beige/green" glock frame, the can isn't a bad match.
I thought the cans look nice, and I don't really think the glock is "puke beige/green" in the photo. |
***Sir, "Puke" is really an individual thing, open to interpretation of colormatch, digestive time allotted, and of course, the original contents of stomach that have been expelled. The Glock is most certainly not Coyote or FDE, which the suppressor is. I find it aesthetically pleasing, but not an exact match. Gemtech only made a small amount of the FDE TUNDRA cans for a certain customer, but we will be making a commercially-available run of the FDE TUNDRA suppressors later this summer. Regards, Kel ARFCOM INDUSTRY DISCLOSURE: It is Monday, and I'm looking forward to trying the lunch buffet at this new Indian place that just opened across the street from Gemtech. Nothing like a little hot curry to jumpstart the week and get rolling on shipping a gazillion Outbacks out the door. Man, those little Outback-II .22lr cans are really great. Great like the feeling you get when you've finished your last bite of spicy chicken tikka masala and then you wash it all down with a cold mango lassi. |

Nice lawn! |

I get that reply every time I take a pic. |

kel, that's a great photo. Can you guys update your website sometime? |
Yeah that's what I was thinking... puke coloring depends on the contents of the stomache hahaha.
A variable. |
I can vouch for the fact that kel's glock is puke green. Last Saturday, my dumb assed best friend (arfcom screen name azreal9mm) had a lot to drink. We ordered some 3:00 AM chinese food and my dumb assed friend took a bet that he could not eat the contents of six packets of spicy mustard followed by one packet of duck sauce. Well, apparently, the combination of about eight beers, somewhere in the neighborhood of six shots of jager, four shots of tequila and mini bottle of passion fruit vodka (it was the last ounce of booze in the house)...
All I can say is that kel's glock would have blended in seamlessly with what my friend left on the floor/his arm/his goatee. |

Thank you all for your expounding on the varied palettes, and natures, of your chunder.
Per someone's request, the MULTIMOUNT would be Gemtech's offering for a modular-rear suppressor in 9mm. The MM9 is suited for subgun, carbine, or handgun 9mm rounds. Gemtech basically pioneered the modern interpretation of the modular-back pistol can (owing some inspiration to Bixler and Blaylock from their old SMG cans), and is available à la carte, with customer field-changable mounts for 3-lug QD, boosters for pistols, fixed threadmount endcaps for fixed barrels, a 9mm upper (TALON) for SBRs and MGs, and a few other rear mounts. It is a better value, less expensive, and lighter than competing suppressors in its class. Either the MM9 or the TUNDRA would make an excellent birthday present for 70satvert, I mean, if you guys were thinking about chipping in and buying him a can to welcome him into his 21st year of manhood. Heck, I'll be the first to hook the kid up. 70s, get a MM9 and I'll toss in a booster or 3-lug of your choice. (This is just out of my own pocket, not a Gemtech thing. More of a "Kel-Tech" thing.) :) Kel (who isn't hurting for a MM9 sale tonight, but rather I feel there's just not enough love in the suppressor world going around these days.) . |
+1 for Kel's generosity. He definitely helped me with my issue and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Finalizing my ATF paperwork tomorrow and mailing it off with the 200 clams. Already bought the gemtech tundra for my g19, FFL hasn't ordered yet though (ordering tomorrow). Using a Jarvis barrel.
side-? for kel: I'm currently having my gen. 1 g19 slide nickel+teflon plated. My local FFL has found me a company out of phoenix, AR that will strip the tennifer and do a nickel+teflon finish on the slide (lone wolf stopped offering this finish - thanks dan!) fairly cheap. Does gemtech offer anything other than the tan and matte black? Any reasons ,functionally, why I couldn't have my can finished the same way? I want a shiny can to match my slide! |
The factory finish is the beauty of the glock pistol. You never have to really worry about rust. Remove that finish and no matter what new finish you place on it, you will always have to worry about the environment that you use it in. Even hard chrome will rust if you do not take care of it properly. Nickle will turn colors over the years. I use to inspect the plating shop at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, FL. so I have a little time with chrome and nickle platings. Ditch the pimp slide and posssibly the supprerssor. Spend the extra money for the plating on ammo. Once you shoot the gun and suppressor you will want more ammo for it. Have fun with you new combo when you get it all in. USNCORPSMAN |

I don't remember exactly, but it came from a dealer who ordered the set for a client who's form 4 didn't get approved. I think I got the LID, the Trinity, the 1/2x28 fixed end cap and the 3 lug end cap for $750. |

What barrel and can are you using on that Glock? Also I can barely make it out on the slide but is it marked ".40"? |

Original. |

G19's are about as small as you can go with a trident and have it cycle, at least this is what I have read from numerous sources. |
That's what I figured, that the G26 becomes a single shot. Has anyone had any success suppressing a G26 with reliable cycling? |
I don't have any first hand experience with it, but the AAC CQB-9 (CQC?) is supposed to function just fine on the 26. I can say from first hand experience that the 26 will cycle reliably with a G19 threaded barrel and an Evolution 9...at least mine does. They say that the 19 is as small as you want to go with the full-size suppressors, though. Apparently there's just too much front end weight to allow the pistol to function reliably with a full-size suppressor and a G26 length barrel...even with a Nielson device. I'm seriously considering picking up the CQC/CQB-9 from AAC for dedicated use on my G26. |
