the russians are the best but at $300 and UP they are pricey.
the chinese are good too but harder to find, ive seen them at around $250-300 at the gun show, there is a table at the SoCal gun shows run by an asian couple that have 2 NIB chinese SKS's, they also sell lots of AK supplies too.
the romanian runs around $180-220, depending on where you get them, they are rough looking but as long as you inspect it, match the numbers, and get Good nice metal then the wood stock can be refinish nicely, i think.
i would have no trouble getting a romanian and depending on it, i think the metal quality is near that of a russian, with finish blemishes at worst. the stocks look bad but with some sanding and painting i think they will come out ok.
i know turners has a sale on the Rom SKSs once in a while, martin b rettings in culver city has them too.
