I once heard of a belt feed upper for an AR15. Has anyone heard of this? If so were can I get one? Are they easy to convert fullauto( ie like an AR dias and m16parts)? Were can I find links for the belt are they exspensive? Can I reuse the links?

Colt designed and sold a few belt feds back in the mid 60's for the military. Problem was that it did not have a quick change barrel and over heated right away. It worked fairly well, but ng for military reliability. Johnathan Arthur Cienna made some civ. semi auto's for a few years. They use the same links as the minimi/M249, but inserted in the weapon up side down from the M249.

Ares is still a go.  There was a post here a while ago explaining that their IP  had gone under and they were redoing their site.

There was also a poster here that showed their home built one.  He is looking into production.

Then there  is the MG34 8mm upper from BRP guns.  It is supposed to start production any week now.www.brpguns.com/xmg99.htm
