Seems like a bad idea to me. I would never be able to trust an all "eletronic" gun.

It seems to me that the first round would not have any velocity. I don't think it sounds like a winngin idea, but hey, you never know.

It's safe due to a new slug/ignition design. There is a little "umbrella" on the tip of each round. This seals the barrel so the hot gasses don't ignite rounds prematurely. It also acts as a moving gasket increasing the velocity of the forward rounds as they move forward. And the electronic ignition system makes sure that they are fired in proper order.
Neat stuff, I can't wait until he perfects the designs. |

That Remington rifle has an electronic trigger not igniter. Regular bullets. I don't know if it is available yet. It's sort of like the HK PGS1.

No. They were screwing around with electrically primed cartridges as well to go with the rifle. I can't remember what the hell they called the cartridge line. The concept is nothing new, the Germans had aerial 30mm cannons that were electrically primed. "Do what you will, just don't give me any widgets." |

I'd absoloutely never trust any electronic weapon. It would likely be more suseptible to damage due to rough handling or other various murphy's law situations. At least a malfunction on a conventional firearm can usually be assessed and cleared in the field and the weapon back in action in seconds. Imagine having to buy new barrel assemblies every time you go shooting. I can see some military apps for the bigger stuff though.
