P90 was released in 1990(work beagan about 1986 in reponse to a U.S. Army request to FN and HK to develop a PDW, with the Army stipulating what exactly the ammo was capable of doing.....like the .30carbine, the Army basically"designed" this ammo) the 57 pistol came along in 1994 So far the 5.7 turned out to be a better rendition than the HK PDW round.

Last time someone went over the fence at the White House the pics of agents pinning him to the ground included the FN P-90.
