Tactical Applications Group

Call em up and order one!  They are made by Eagle Industries, mine is working out quite nicely!

Really?  I had not heard who made the TAG Spartan.  I got mine a few weeks ago and am still setting it up.  It seems like a quality piece of gear, and fills a niche role for a new IBA carrier that doesn't suck as much as the issue one.

OK, so it is 'primitive' compared to a lot of people's setup but I got my reasons, and now I'll tell you why (if you don't like wordy stuff, just skip to the next post)

I have an LBV setup, but find that it gets pretty darn hot pretty quick.  CTD had all sorts of USGI gear on sale, so I set up the LBE for under $20 just to see how it worked.  Turns out I really like it.  The H suspenders do a great job of distributing the load, and by going light on pouches/canteens (2 mag pouches, 2 canteens, 1 GP pouch on front right) I can still sit in a vehicle without removing antying/getting jabbed in the kidneys.

The funny looking holster is a Bianchi M13 chest harness.  I think the M12 series holsters are the bees knees, and the chest harness allows me to free up valuable real estate on my waist (30" waist = not much room to work with) The holster rides just below my left pectoral and is put on first.  I then put the LBE on.  The nice thing about that setup is I can ditch the LBE and still have the pistol available.  The pisol location is particularly good for sitting in a vehicle, especially in the driver postiion- the pistol can very easily be accesssed if necessary.  Granted, if I belly flop it is gonna ache a bit, but that was a trade of I decided was worthwhile.

A few more things will be added to the rig, i.e. a good knife and first aid, (and I have a camelback if time permits getting it) but beyond what you see and a 3 day pack full of goodies with an IDF sling for a strap I really have all I need for short term.

I just got the M1A the other day, and just finished the camo on the synthetic stock about an hour before the pic.  I find the M1A suprisingly well balanced and well worth the extra 2 pounds over an AR carbine in exchange for more punch and more accuracy (I shoot a hell of a lot better with it than an AR, go figure).

Who keeps belts and knee pads in the safe?  What can I say?  I abuse my gear, then clean it.

Man, this stuff doesn't look used either....?   What is up with all of this brand new gear?  You know what, I like it anyway.  I am looking to buy some newer stuff in ACU and this looks cool.  Only my plate carrier is going to be a Wasatch in ACU.  Hawkeye thanks for the pix.

It's a Marmot. North America's largest rodent. The situation was tense for awhile, but he finally came to his senses and relinquished the G29. These things are becoming too tame (sorry for the hijack):
