I recently added a Mossberg 500AB to my collection of firearms to be used for personal homeland defense. Here's my shotgun with two of my favorite AR15s.

soldier1181, can you give me some details on your flashlight mount?

Here's my first...I need to get some better pics:

Mossberg Maverick Model 88

I have tried it down at the range and it's really nice.  I hope to try it out in the real world and get some whitetail this fall:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/Mikeyworks/MiscForums/P9204500.jpg

I also have this nice  A.H. Fox Sterlingworth 12ga. that I inherited from my Grandfather.
From what I can discern from the serial number, it was made around 1915.

It's well used and the stock is a bit loose, but I can't wait to put it through it's paces, though I am a bit afraid to shoot it as it's nice and old.. It has an auto eject on it which I understand is pretty rare for this gun, pushing up the value a bit. It's probably the most expensive in my collection and my most prized

My humble 870 Marine Magnum.....

It isn't all that tactical but it was my first, cheapest, favorite, and in my eye the most beautiful gun I own...

When I was younger I saw a Remington 870 Tactical Shotgun in a case at Bass Pro Shop. I asked the guy what the name of it was and he said .20 gauge. Me in awe went home and asked my dad for a ".20 Gauge". He proceeded to buy me a single shot New England Firearms .20 Gauge for a steal at $130 brand new. I was mortified when I first got it, although I didn't say anything I was disappointed because I thought I was getting a Remington 870... Well now I love it more than all the rest and wouldn't give it up for anything. It looks brand new because I have maintained it so well and still remains my #1 above my 1911 and M4. and Weatherby . I now realise that he got me a single shot break open to teach me how to use it safely and later planned on replacing it... I said not a chance .

If you can't tell its my absolute favorite
I clean the damn more often than I brush my teeth...

What kind of barrel is that?  Is it one complete piece?  What is on the front of the barrel?  Does it put the barrel @ the 18.5”?

Thanks,

They are made by Mossberg for the Remington 870 and they are a one  piece barrel.

Not the best pics, but here's my beater Wingmaster.  Came to me as a well used duck gun for $90.  Some work here and there and a few add ons and she's in good shape.  Has been with me for several years and I see no reason to let loose of her now!

Nice.
Just wondering but what are New Zelands Gun laws like?

Pic to stay on topic

New Zealands firearms laws are tight but far better than Australia and the UK, and thus enable IPSC and 3gun competitions to occur.
You can only get a pistol licence if you're an active member of an approved club, and then they can only be used on an approved range (No hunting or concealed carry)
A special licence is required for Military style semi-auto rifles, this is defined by having pistol grip stocks, mag capacity greater than 7 rounds and a flash hider/bayonet lug etc. Again being an active competitior is the best way to get the licence, hunting isn't a good enough reason. Then you can have pretty much anything as long as it longer than 30" overall.
Takes about eight months to get these licences and involves the Police inspecting your storage security and talking with your wife/partner and independant character references. If you have any history of crime or violence you wont be getting one, or your wife says no to the inspector.
Collectors are allowed anything from submachine guns, heavy machine guns to 40mm bofors cannons and rockets etc, but here's the kicker, they aren't allowed to fire them ever!
Once you've got the licences the hardest thing is actually getting firearms exported from the USA to NZ. The State Department is really slow in approving export permits and wont let anything out of the US if its got a flash hider or adjustable stock.  We get round this through parts from Europe, or just import individual bits later.
We just had IPSC shooter Matt Burkett over here for our 3 Gun National competition and he was able to bring his own pistols, AR and shotgun with him. (He kicked ass cause we don't have any Grand Master level shooters.......yet)

My first semi auto shotgun!!!

I still have my Nova and 590 but I have not been able to afford a nice 12G semi auto out here in Hawaii.. then I found this at a local shop, with the original barrel for around $350.  Picked up a short barrel for $92 (shipping hurts to Hawaii) and last week I tossed on a coat of Vltor Black DuraCoat.

Now I need to order the mag extender and she will be done!

Oh, shoots like a dream...http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p207/duckhoward/Guns/M9200SBMedium.jpg

Since its a shotgun thread, a different pic

http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p207/duckhoward/Gear/shell%20holder/lengthMedium.jpg

The shell holder is from EAGLE.  I have no idea if its still made.  A friend of mine owns a gun shop here in Hawaii and was selling a box of Eagle gear on consignment for a person that used to sell the stuff.  I picked it up for $5.

It seems a little thick, but doesn't bother me enough to swap it out.  I really like how you can adjust it to fit about anything out there.  I have had it on my Nova also and didn't have to adjust it very much.
