It's heavy. Very heavy. I love mine and would suggest that if you can get one for $400, jump on it, hard. Otherwise PM the info to me and I'll get it.

Good buy but... of my three MKIIs that I own, that one leaves the safe the least...with the 6inch bull leaving almost every trip to the range.

The longer sight radius is conducive to greater accuracy & consistancy, but the muzzle heavy feel will affect different people in different ways. In my case it is my most accurate Mk II pistol, but handling the heft can be problematic. It doesn't cause me enough of a problem to ever want to part with it. Mine is blued, and if I can ever find a SS version, I will buy it if priced reasonably. That has been the problem, when they do show up, quite often the owners think they're made of gold, and want to charge accordingly.

I bought mine as an all-purpose, survival, small-game getter to be carried in / on a backpack.
Accuracy of a rifle in a package the size of a pistol. As a range gun, it is very accurate (just like most MKII's) and always attracts attention. People love to shoot them. A set of Ruger thumbrest grips make the muzzle weight more manageable too. I'll bet the stainless 10" version is real pretty, and I've only seen the blued version in person. |

It's my favorite handgun, and the gun I've used far more than any other. The long sight radius is like cheating, and the extra muzzle weight is ideal for hunting IMO.
For target work I'd want either the 5.5 or the 678 bull, for their improved balance. But for two handed 'kill it and grill it' work, I prefer the 10". Very unfortunate that Ruger dropped this option with the MKIII.  |

I have a blue one. It shoots great but I don't use it as much as my shorter ones. Unfortunately, someone (me in my dumber days) drilled and tapped the top for a scope rail and got the holes slightly canted, killing the resale value. I've considered cutting it down to 5" and threading for a suppressor but I'll probably just keep it like it is. 5.5" bull is my favorite size.

I have one. I like it. I prefer the MkII Slabside I have but for $400 i'd put another 10 incher in the stable.

I went to look at it the other day. It looks like it is missing a screw in the front of the triggerguard?????
It would appear that there would be no reason for a screw to be in the front of the triggerguard. Is this something did on there own??? |

Volquartsen installed the one in my pic, but I've installed a few myself, and so have a few other folks. It's not really a project for the novice, but it is a worthwhile upgrade. The other option is an internal pre-travel adjustment screw. Much easier to install, and some Rugers ship with them OEM. But you have to remove the trigger every time you want to adjust it. Which blows. Volquartsen or Clark Custom may still offer this service. |

I have two (blue and SS) and I paid $350 for the SS and $300 for the blue one but most are more. Four hundred isn't bad.
 Both are great and very accurate.

I gave $315 last year for a ss10 lnib, but I shoot circles around it with my buckmark camper

I have a 14" with my 8.5" TacSol barrel and 6" Sparrow silencer
 . Very accurate, but not as handy as a 4-5" barrel.
