Its been a couple years since I did anything with it because its been buried in my back yard. I dug it up today, and other than the spots where the Tennifer was ground off It seems pretty good.

It doesnt look like the trigger spring did too well.

It seems to only rust where the tennifer was removed. It doesnt look good in the barrel. Maybe it was a thin spot in the tenifer and a hundred thousand rounds wore through?

Another spot where the tennifer was ground off.

The top of the barrel wasnt eroded along the edge when I buried it. I dont know what happened there?

The internal pieces did quite well - other than the trigger spring.

I'll let it soak for a day in EvapoRust and see if I still have a functional weapon.

I'll upload a video of the exhuming this evening.

I think that pistol has been through more abuse (science?) than any on Earth. I will be impressed as hell if it works.

You are the reason I bought my Glock. I was a hater.

I don't like shooting it as much as other guns, I don't care for the ergos, but I can live with them, but knowing the damn thing is going to survive just about anything is something that is comforting and more than makes up for my personal dislikes.

The one thing I would have done differntly was run a brush through the bore a couple of times and shot it right there to see what would happen. If it didn't look too safe to shoot, I'd set up a locked rest and set up a 10' line to yank the trigger. Fascinating nevertheless.

I would have just cleaned the barrel, loaded a mag, and shot it.

I'm sure it'll work.

I would have liked too, but since it was being left beyond my control I buried it in my suburban backyard. Gun shots(unsuppressed) are not something I could get away with

It continues to amaze me in it's toughness. The only pistols I own are Glocks because of things like this.

Probably. HK has an excellent finish on it too. "It's called, iirc, a "harsh environment finish" or something like that. I don't know what sig uses. I just have bad luck with HKs, I hate the way sigs feel, Glocks are wierd to get used to, but once you do, they're magic. I love all mine.
