87, no more, no less, usually.

You mean a single failure to function, or complete and absolute failure...which sometimes may be the same round count.  87 sounds about right - on average...

I don't know but my TLE II has passed 10k rounds recently and nothing on the gun ever broke.  All factory stock except for Heinie Slant Pro sight, S&M MSH and Wood grips.

The Series I Target I have is going to reach 10k round this year (9,500 rounds so far) and nothing broke on that one either.  It too is factory stock except for Bomar sight, S&M MSH and Wood grips.

The Series I Ultra Carry is around 5,000 rounds now but I had to replace the extractor and the slide stop while in the break-in stage.  Still factory stock except S&M MSH and wood grips.

In theory it shouldn't be any different than any other 1911.  Replace the springs every couple thousand rounds and you'll likely go 20,30,40k rounds without needing to replace anything else.  I think I've read that most barrels will go 100k rounds or more without loosing their accuracy (to a certain degree).

Maybe I am on crack, but I swear every time I turn around there is a new post with your name on it.  You have authored 7 topics on the first page of the handgun forum at the time I entered it.  What would be great is if you could consolidate all of your questions into one post.  Maybe it's the crack, but I swear you are f*#king with us.

-breathe deep, relax...-

I've got a bunch of Kimbers.  Most of them have several thousand rounds on them.  Some parts, such as recoil springs on the smaller ones, need to be replaced every 800 - 1000 rounds.  Barrel life varies, but figure at least 5000 rounds or more.

But I digress.  87 sounds about right.

Post count means exactly jack shit.

No problem asking questions, no reason to make that many different threads when they are all handgun related questions.

Seriously though.... I am looking for my first 1911.  You guys would take Springfield over Kimber?  Looking to spend about $1100

I getting my 1st 1911 and I decided on Springfield because of the warranty. It is much better then the Kinber 1 year warranty. Both seem to be built about the same with quality parts. The Springfield has a life time no nonsence warranty.
