I have a 1911 which is very accurate with plain black rubber fingergroove grips. But I have very nice wood grips with a neat design that look much better.

Which would you choose?

I don't see why the weapon would be less accurate with the wood stocks. However, if the pretty wood makes you shoot the pistol worse, go ugly.

I like the rubbery grips, as once I get down to some serious shooting, the stocks start going a little slippery on me, the rubber just grip tighter.

The houge grips are my favorites.  I have some serious grips  that cost a bundle, but just the thought of shooting makes my hands get too slippery for them and the gun ios sliding around like an egg in a pot full of melted butter.
