I have seen some really nice wood grips on some of the refinished P6's here. What I am wondering is, are there any wood grips available that don't cost $100+? So far all of the wood grips that I see are really expensive. Thanks in advance.

Negative Ghostrider.
Not that I know of and I have looked hard. Alumagrips would be awesome. |

That looks sweet. |

this web sight can reproduce your p6 rips and make new ones out of wood. They also have a etching option. http://www.gripus.com/

Where did you find the Eagle grips?? I did a search and have not been able to find them. Can you provide a link. Thanks!!! |
what are some inexpensive slim grips? that's a lot of meat for a single stack frame.
Wish you could still get Goodyears . . . er, I mean Pachmyars . . .

Eagle Grips Sarge, you have to call them. Ask for Raj ("rodge"). 800-323-6144 The guys at Eagle are great. They have a small shop 10 minutes from my office. I drove down and saw their shop. They make the P225 and other autoloader grips per order. Most are not shown on the website. I wasn't happy with the first set of grips they gave me, so I took them back and explained to them what changes I thought should be made. They agreed with me, and they hand-selected a new set for me and increased the amount of relief around the mag release area. Eagle now incorporates the mag area changes with all new P225 grips. You're welcome. |

Does anyone use one of these for reproducing handgun grips?
http://s7.sears.com/is/image/Sears/00921754000?qlt=90,0&resMode=sharp&op_usm=0.9,0.5,0,0 It's the Craftsman CompuCarve Computer-Controlled Compact Woodworking Machine. Here is a link to the description: www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921754000P?vName=Tools&cName=Bench+Power+Tools&sbf=Brand&sbv=Craftsman It looks like one could go into business with one of these (if it works well for the application) and using any kind of wood, plastic, etc., reproduce wood grips exactly to fit most any hand gun that has removable grips from the originals as a pattern (not the polymers). Has anyone done this? |

oo la la!! |

Excellent! |

keep us posted. |

Ah, is that why I saw a set on ebay get bid up over $85? I paid $15 for a pair for my P220. |
oops . . . |
This Auction is currently over $117! |
Meh... I got them for free with my P225, and I sold them to a friend. No biggie. |

FYRARMS, thanks for the info about the wood grips from Numrich.
Here is the link for the Numrich Wood Grips for the P225 for everyone who is looking
www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=1047620&chrSuperSKU=&MC= I sent an email to Hogue about making a run of P225 Grips. There are no plans for making a run of them. |
Those are for the European-style heel magazine release. |
"Those are for the European-style heel magazine release."
Yes,but a slight modification for the mag release and it will work. |
One person who could make them is Dennis Marschal of Hungary. He is currently making great grips for the CZ82 and others...I bet he would be happy to make P6 grips as well.

Thanks for the input. How do we get a hold of him? Thanks for any info. |
Very nice. What kind of finish is that? |

Nill also make some wood grips. They look stunning, but $143 is killer.

Thanks, bro. The gun was refinished by CCR in "House Stainless". |

According to a post on sigforum, Marschal is preparing to produce P6 grips in various woods and finishes now... Good news--his CZ82 grips are terrific. His prices are reasonable, too. |
I sent him an e-mail asking about them and got a reply about a week ago. He stated that he does not make them of yet but if I wanted to send grips it would be about 3 months. He said he is pretty busy at the moment. |
He has gotten several emails offering grips that he could copy. He said they would be produced faster then normal once I mentioned the price the sigs were selling at and directed him to some threads. He mentioned 2 months max to me so I have no idea. 2-3 months is still decent for 30-50$ grips. Pacymers selling for 100$ on ebay and niles at 80$ you dont have many options. Seen a couple of people who will reverse engineer grips for you but they only deal with mesquite wood which I did not like the looks off.
It would be great if he did make some. The niles look decent. The pacymers look like crap IMO and there is no way I would pay $100+ for a $10 grip More options would definitely be nice! |
has anyone seen if the 228/229 grips fit onto the 225 frame??
Hey, they'll do custom wood if you can get the materials. Neat. Thanks for the link. |

Sometimes we gun guys pick up a bargain like the P6...
only to dump a ton of money in it because we can't leave well enough alone! I'm not very interested in ending up with a $500-$600 single-stack 9mm pistol. You can easily have that just buy buying Nills grips and buying some extra factory mags (after you FIND them). Unless good grips for these pistols become available in the cheap...the factory grips work fine for me. |
They don't. The screw holes are in the wrong place as well as the width is different. |
I'm still holding out for the aluminum grips that are supposed to be in the works...
Damn.....Pach's go for THAT MUCH for a P-225???
Me thinks I need to dig my old set out and put 'em up on flea-bay! |

Check out this link. These are the best looking replacement grips beside the Sig Factory Wood ones and the more expensive Nill grips. You can request to have the "swoosh" removed from the checkering. Damn good price, too! By the way, I have NOT ordered these yet. I hear that shipping takes a few weeks, but for the price and the product, it seems to be worth it. |
How cheap is cheap? I posted 2 sets of nice wood grips. The Sile grips cost $30. The Eagles cost $80. |

+1 for www.marschalgrips.com! I picked up my set from the Post Office this afternoon and I am VERY impressed! I got the checkered walnut w/oil finish & Sig Sauer/P6 logo. Expect about a three week turn around but well worth the wait. He added a bit of material to the curved part of the grip so it fills my hand just right. Damn Sexy! I'll post pics tomorrow evening when the wife brings the good camera back.

I PM'd Edward Avila re: The aluminum grips- hopefully we'll get an update in the near future.

This is the e-mail reply I got from Patchmyer when I asked at their website about if they consider to restart production of P225/P6 rubber grip:
" There is a strong possibility that those grips will be made again. Lyman customer service' More people make the request, the better chance they would consider so. |
