Nice gun! I picked up a used P226 a couple of weeks ago and I already have 500 rounds down the barrel. Eleven bucks a pop for a hundred-round box of Walmart Valu-pack ammo. The .45 Valu-pack goes for about 14 bucks, not bad for .45 ammo and it shoots just fine!

hmmm, $14 is not that bad, I'll have to check up on that today!

RED 5, I use Milt Sparks, VM-2 for my P245 and its great.
I also going to try the High Noon Holster, tail Gunner for my P220.
My P220 was also used, I paid $399. for it.

Congrats on your new Sig. You will love it. I also agree on the Hogue grips.
They make the gun even better. Mine feels like it was made just for me.

Great gun! I have two already, but just bought another today in excellent used condition. I will put night sights on it, refinish the slide, and give it to my son as a Christmas present along with several of the newer...and MUCH beter...SS mags plus some SXT 230gr. ammo and some AE ball.

Sig 220 GOOD!

Just picked up a 220R recently myself - The way I've been trained to shoot with my thumbs high on the slide, I *never* have the slide lock back on the last round. I was thinking of doing the "glock" mod that I had seen recently around here - taking a dremel and file and cutting off the slide release control lever so that only the metal that holds the slide open remains. Has anyone done this with any success?

I think I will probably order an extra slide release to test this on and keep the original for re-selling purposes as well as reliability (if it screws up the functioning).

Other than that, I am suprised by how well the 220 shoots. I am a devout single-action guy, but this may bring me around. :)

DoctorNo;
I hsve seen scores of 220's, all of which would probably outshoot a Gold Cup! These are some VERY nice pistolas! They tend to recoil a bit more due to muzzle "flip", but they also are very...did I say very..."Accurate"?.They are excelleny pistols and well worth what they are brining these days!..

Hey Red congrats on the new woman.  I bought my P220 in 1993 and it is incredible.  It shoots smooth and doesn't feel like your shooting a .45.  That was the sweetest part of it for me.  My model 23 Glock shot harder than this gun (to me).  You'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it so burn 'em up!
