Hi, folks.

I am getting ready to get a Glock 26, and I wanted to make sure their was no impending design changes, etc. that I might want to wait for.  Anything new on the horizon for this model?

I don't think there is such a thing as a bad time to buy a Glock, or any good gun for that matter.

I love my 26 that was purchased a couple months ago.  It's a great CCW pistol, though you'll find some people complaining that Glocks are too wide for carry.  That's their opinion, but hasn't been a problem for me.

As far as waiting for design changes, that's got to be up to you  I personally wouldn't hold off buying one.  I have a 2nd gen G19 that's a great pistol, but I'll probably get a 3rd gen for the rail.  I prefer the 2nd gen grip but the rail on the 3rd gen, and it wouldn't surprise me that any updates to the G26 could be a mixed bag as well.

Good thoughts.  I shopping for used ones right now, but I have a good line on a cheap new one, so I may go ahead and buy it.

+1 to the "I love it" column.  I have one for concealed, and I shoot it more than my Beretta 92FS.

Is there a similar size 40?  I know, I could look it up.  But what else do you have to do?

Yes, the G27.

Just got one today and ran it through the paces. My only gripe is the slide release is HARD. I mean I had to use 2 thumbs to get it to activate. I ended up slingshotting it for the day at the range.

That is the correct way to do it.

I rented one at the range a few months ago.
Good shooter with surprising accuracy.
OD G26 is my nest choice.

I put my new G26 in an MTAC and I don't even notice its there.  Its an accurate little bugger too.  You'll be glad you picked one up.

I am thinking of picking one of these up for a back up gun. Are those factory +2 glock extensions or do the 26 mags come like that?

That's the exact holster I'm ordering.  What clips did you get?

The 26 comes in the box with 2 flush-fit 10-round magazines.  Those mags look to be Glock-branded +2 extensions.  I bought a couple Glock mags with those extensions already installed.  If you can accept the very minor tradeoff of the extended mag, shootability with that pinky rest is much better.  Even with extensions, it still conceals easily - I liken it to a bobtailed Glock 19.

Took mine shooting again tonight, and still love it.  The 26s have a good reputation for accuracy.  This is possibly due to comparatively thicker slide/barrel, as well as the double recoil spring keeping the breech locked until bullet is out of the barrel.  Keep in mind that the short sight radius and lighter weight will make careful sight alignment and trigger control more important.  If not careful, I tend to pull shots a bit to the left.

Remember that you can share magazines with larger Glocks.  Some folks keep the 10 or 10+2 mag in the pistol and a G19 or G17 mag as a spare.  The longer 19/17 mags also give you a place to rest your pinky.

I might suggest an IWB holster with a J-clip for a belt, an upside-down clip, or belt loops.  That will lessen the chance of pointing both pistol and holster at the target.  I also have a Galco with a belt clip similar to that Hume, though, and it's worked OK.

I got the standard ones.  They go on the belt easy and are very secure.

Is there much of a bulge with the standard clips?  I was debating getting the v-clips, but I think it might conceal better with a concealed shirt anyway.

Nah the standard clips are pretty low profile.  I went back and forth on which ones to get, and I'm happy with the standards.  Mine took about a week and a half from ordering until it hit my door, and they shoved a bunch of free candy in the box too.
