If this Guns and Ammo article is correct I'm sooooo IN.
If this is a dupe thread I'm blind. Glock can keep the new .380 but I've come close to overpaying for components and building that pistol a couple of times. |

Nice: A practical tactical .45 ACP
Teh suck: It has a thin slide. |
I will purchase at least one 41 and a 42 when they become available.

If it fits my BH CQC then I'm happy.
Now I want one with a threaded barrel and 34/35 slide cut. I only hope it comes in Gen3 trim also. |
I didn't know it had a thin slide. That makes it much more interesting.
This is what interest me!
All I've heard is G42 this, G42 that. I want to see more of this! |

I'm going to predict that several of the kids in the various 4H state championships in 45 pistol (including at least one of my kids) will be shooting this in 2014 because of it's likely price, weight, slim slide and length of slide/sight radius. As long as pricing fits the Glock model this will likely become a very desirable entry level product for youth competitors. That's assuming people like me can put them in kid's hands soon (if not, then next year for sure).

Going to be a player for sure. What is the deal with the slim slide? Does that mean this will fit in 34 holsters? I wonder why they excluded the cutout for the 45?

View Quote The slide might fit 34/35 holsters but the frame fits 21 Gen4 holsters. No cut out plus slimmer slide means the weight is close to the slide weight of the 21, less engineering. |

Interesting enough...the gun is reported at 1.5ounces lighter than the 21 I believe. |

Thats pretty cool if it is lighter than the 21. Wonder if the skinny slide will work its way onto the 21 eventually.

Why does this "teh suck"? View Quote He's probably thinking what I am. Thinner slide = problematic using a 45 to 10mm conversion barrel and expecting the slide to hold up over time. The barrel would handle things no problem but would the slide if it is thinner? Either way, it's a light weight 45 Glock longslide that fits existing gear. Easy pickup choice for me. |
Is that photo real or doctored? No light rail cut makes me wonder.
I've wanted a longslide 45 for a long time, but this is not it. It will not fit my 9mm or 45 holsters and I won't own a gen 4.

I was planning on buying a G34 but now I will probably buy a G41 just because I think it will be a lot of fun to shoot.
The 380 is too darn big for a 380. I really want the 45 though.

The distributor that my LGS uses already has them, they just have to wait till sometime after SHOT to ship them.

Dang! I am going to be so broke after SHOT. Seems like so many new guns that I want will soon be on the market.

a g19 with no light rail or finger grooves done like the .380 would be tits.

With gen 4 stippling, recoil spring and actually still in production.

Its time to talk to the boss to see how much this is going to cost me.
Looks like a perfect candidate for the Vortex RAZOR 3moa MRDS I'm about to order. And I need to start considering a threaded barrel for it now. Damn it GLOCK. I mean this in the best way possible. |
