Been looking around, and I'm not really sure what I want.

All suggestions welcome!

Thanks
Out.

I'm thinking about trying a case from Cheaperthandirt.com for my Tantal.

I was looking on cheaperthandirt today (love that magazine) at those cases, and my next thought is, "well do I want one that's short (stock folded) or do I want a full length (open stock) size...

I suppose I could get the full size, and then fold the stock to allow for a handgun or other things to be placed in the case..

What do you think?

If you try to put a cased handgun in a long case with a folded AK / Tantal, You would soon have the handgun case sliding around inside the rifle case, were it would eventually move up / down to the rifle and start scratching it up.  I'd highly recommend against this from personal experience.

I'd recommend a fixed stock case because

(A) if you ever do switch to a fixed stock, you will need that extra room
(B) it provides more exterior magazine pockets
(C) You can used it for an AR or Shotgun too

wise words Big Hammer.
I appreciate your input, and preventing me doing something not-so-smart.
So how big (inches) would a proper fixed stock tactical case be?  Since the rifle is only 37", would you say maybe a 40" 42"?

Thanks

40" case would do the trick.

Would fit a M-4 / CAR AR easy and most riot guns too.

Have you checked out this case?

Although advertised for Chinese paratooper AK-47 rifles, it looks perfect for a Tantal with a wire folding stock.

I looked at that link and thought I saw a stuffed teddy bear face down, I guess that was the case.

For 'covert' operations:

I have a VooDoo 42" case that holds one rifle and two pistols. similiar to the one in the above link. Got it from CTD two years ago.  Works great is very sturdy and you can't beat the back pack straps for short hikes to the gravel pit. It can fit any "black" style rifle even my Cetme with full stock.

I may have to pick up one of those chinese para bags also those are just funky.

Although I perfer Head instead of Wilson, the tennis racket bag is hard to beat IMO.

ALso check out One Source Tactical's sneaky rifle bag.
