I spoke to Pam and she said that some had a worn apperance and  may have some light surface rust (not all are like that) and they are fully functional. I have personally not seen any yet,but one must realize a SG deal will probably not happen again!

I just recieved mine today in the mail, I ordered two sets.  The mags are decent, there is some surface rust and wear but the overall they look to be alright.  The ones I got from SG were definately nicer though.  Here is a picture of them,

I am wagering those have been refinished...they look better than NIW mags!  Gunkote or 1200 degree engine paint?

....nothing like a quick suit to make the man, but he still has to fit into it well!

I spent maybe a total of 20 minutes prepping and finishing them. Thats how clean they were regarding rust or pitting. Two coats and overnight. In good enough shape that no blasting, dismantling or heavy degreasing necessary. Used S&W SuperAcrylic spray enamel. Ive already bang and tossed them around and nothing is scratching, peeling nor cracking off. No investment in materials to rework. Had everything I needed in house. Steel wool, acetone and spray enamel.

Cant wait to get my next batch. They did go up .50 cents though.

Its $2.99 now. Still ok.

ETA: price charged was the old rate 24.97 then minus 10% Club Memeber = 22.47, (2) packs so preship was 44.94(for 20 magazines) shipping 8.99 package protection 1.49 Total Charge=$55.42

so net cost per magazine was = $2.77(per mag)

Mine just arrived.  Ordered them after reading this thread, didn't see the "Have to call Lois/Pam to get the shipping discount" postings until later.

Called and left a message and got the discount - great service.

Ordered on Sat 21, delivered 27.
All of them function 100%.
Some light surface rust here and there, no biggy.
One of them has slight ding midway up the rear seam, might have been caused by USPS handling.
They'll clean up just fine.

All in all they look as good as the rest of my shooters.
I say it's a good deal.

I ordered them on the 20th, didn't get them until today.  I ordered 16, 12 have very little to no rust and are in good shape in general.  3 have some rust, one has very little finish and quite a bit of rust.  I am relatively pleased with them.

WHile everyone things they are getting over in these type of deals, its the importers/dealers that are getting over.

When Eastern European factories and Gov'ts ship out AKs, they often include stuff like mags, mag pouches, slings, bayonets, etc as "basic issue items".. These are included in the cost of the rifles...

In Germany, if you buy a deact or semi, the seller will include whatever items were sent by the exporter in E.Europe.. For example, the Bulgarians include a sling, bayonet, mag pouch, cleaning rod, and 4 mags.

Only in the USA does the importer/seller strip them out, sell them to you for cheap, and act like they are doing you a favor...

Nailed that one Stott.. All these mags, and the Romy bayonet that are being sold, all most likely came from our $99 Romy kits.. That the importers probably paid $20 each for..
