Are you gonna shoot any of them before you procede with the horrible act?

Why aren't you saving them to make into semi-autos? There have been a fair number of people in that group buy thread who asked about calibers other than 9mm. And since LEO mags don't matter soon, why not cut the reciever and then rebuild them on semi-auto? That would be cool.

So they can't even be re-assembled on semi-auto receivers? Maybe they could be sold as dummy guns on fake reciever blocks.

Once a machinegun, always a machinegun. Basicall since these were built on receivers after 1986 and did not use a drop in auto sear that was registered before 86 they are LE only.  You can cut the receivers according to BATFE specs and sell the rest of the gun.  The rest of the parts can be reassembled on a new manufactured semi only receiver for use non LE peons.

***Warning, Newbie***

Why can't they be sold to LE? If they can be I know some SWAT guys that would buy. And no, they're not the anti-gun types either. They're the good, respectable, back woods, hillbilly, "Boy your in a HEAP of trouble" types.

IIRC you can no longer do that, something about people in CA buying weapons in such a mannor for personal use under the pretence of offical police use. Now to my knowleged only the Department can purchase such things, and that is with a State A-OK!, then they weapons will be locked away in an Armoury.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sure, there are plenty of LE who would want them.   I know of some military units that would take them too - if the price was right.   I have seen used LE only MP-5s trade hands in the $1200 range, $1700 to $2000 each is not just high, but insane.   Consider you can get M4s starting around $650 each and Colt 9mms for not much more.    The MP5 is good, but not so good that a used MP5 is worth more than twice as much as a well equipped Colt 9mm or M4 carbine.

$1700 to $2000 for a parts kit?!?!

Same here if I could afford it. I've been wanting an MP5 in 40 to go along with my 40 AR upper. But than I found out the price to have one built and well, for an extra $1k-$1,500 I could buy a RLL for the AR. If I could get a 40 MP in the same price range as a 9mm MP I;d be all over that like stink on shit.

How much for a complete rifle, semi, in 40?

I think they are expenive because of the rarity and the fact that they would be probably the only such kits available.  LE value and civilian value are rarely related when comes to SMGs.

Yup, somewhat strange to think they are worth more cut up as parts kits on the civilian market than as complete rifles resold to LE, but that's probably the reason this is being done.   The complete rifles probably cost less, new, to LE than the kits are being sold for, but since H&K ain't selling complete parts kits that I'm aware of, and us peasants can't get a complete rifle, that really isn't an option.    I'm sure that ORF got these for less than new prices as well, but hey, they deserve to make a buck too.

IIRC, new LE MP5A2/9s run around $900/unit (for departments).
Sorry, but those prices really are just too high for me to even consider it- especially for used parts.

Oh well, that's the artificially/dealer-inflated realm of gun pricing for ya!

Fixed it for ya, what you guys don't understand is that besides the fact the the 40S&W is hard to find is that kit's like this are hard to find period, and since and HK94 is going for $4000 right now, this is a pretty damn good price, hell if i had the money i'd buy not just 1 but 2.  What they sell for new is basically worthless information too since we civies can't buy them new, hence the inflation cost because of the rarity of these kits
