Guys,
Here we go again. ORF is proud to annouce that we will be making milled Ak74, yes I did type that right Ak74 (5.45x39) receivers. Production is starting in about 2 weeks. Waiting on stock to show up. I will try and get our cad picture posted on here for you guys to see. We are gonna start presaleing them now at an introductory price of $299.95 part # RFM74. Intro price is good for about 1 month from today. After that, they will be approx $349.95. All orders taken with CC's, will not be billed until shipped. Expect receivers to start shipping in approx 6 weeks. Receivers are made from 4140 billet steel, CNC machined to precise accuracy. Fully heat treated, and made to last many many lifetimes! For constructing a Ak74 on our receiver, all you need is a standard stamped rec parts kit! Brls will need pressed in, you will use the brl pin from the trunion in your stamped kit. Receivers will be finished in our special "blark" coating, pretty darn close match to what the stamped 74 kit finish is, so you would not have to refinish the rifle after you complete it. ORF will be mfg rifles too, but will be awhile before we get to that. UPDATES ON THE SHOP SEAK project almost all wrapped up, few to ship, about 2 weeks or less on them GALIL receivers instock and ready to ship ORF Galil rifles, as of today 2 ARM guns instock ready to ship $1299.95 each ORF M76 receivers, yeap gonna bust that cherry too! Hope to start production of these in 4-6 weeks ORF FNC lowers, yet another one, production on these about 6-8 weeks away We have one small set back but I hope it gets fixed soon. CNC machine #2 is not up and running yet. We are having tool changer problems. Hope this gets fixed within the next week and production stays on sch. We are still not taking on any new custom jobs just yet. Couple weeks before we get back to that. Todd@ORF www.OhioRapidFire.com |

M76 receivers!!!!!! You are my hero! Please post if you're taking deposits on these.
take care, Tec |
Tec,
Couple more weeks yet on the M76s, then I will start a preorder. Todd@ORF |
Man, you guys are doing more stuff than Todd Bailey. Only your stuff actually ships and actually shoots.
But why, why, why, does your website still say 'OUT OF STOCK' below all your FALs???? |
Now if I could get a hk-94ish reciever from you guys, I would believe you can walk on water!
That is awesome though. |
Rabid,
The FALs are still pretty much out of stock. There are about 4-5 FALs in the store now for sale, couple STG58's $799.95, custom wood carbine $799. When I get time to make another run of them I will update the site. Toxie, Thats kinda funny you mention that. I have a couple presses that are gonna show up here real soon. Wander what we can stamp, hmmm hmmm. Todd@ORF |
Hmm sounds like I need to start stocking up on MP5 mags...... |
Going to the Troy Fish and Game to have my own mini "Bullet Fest" after I'm done at ORF.

WE missedyou at BF.. Heard you had a job interview.. How did it go??? As allways, can't wait to see those great ORF pics... |
Todd, will these be AK74 or AKS74? receivers?
....man, with the new press coming in and all aren't you afarid of having a monopoly on all the kewl shit being produced? |
man, i would be SO in for an mp5 rcvr!!! two, even!!!
todd, i regularly hit your site just to drool over all the neat stuff you got there! |
Oh shit, that's it, I'm moving to PA.
An FNC sounds awesome, but are there kits? Edited to add, how about AR-70 receivers? |
You guys are unbelievable |
Awww shit!!! Now I'm going to HAVE to get a 2nd job.
--- Unless you guys are looking for part-time help on the weekends. |
What is the time frame for needing to get the M76 receiver? I am very interested, but it will be 2-3 months before I have the $. I had a small affair with this rifle back in the early 1990's.
TMI!...and I don't want to see any pics! |
I think I'm gonna hafta talk to the folks in payroll and see if I can get an ORF deduction set up. First the gubmint and now ORF. Oh, the horror!
I think between the home brew, OOW, Global Trades, and Hesse, we're set on 47/74 receivers. It would be cool to see another vendor, but I don't know if that investment would be smart financially. There is a dude making AR70 receivers...about $350 if I recall. What about those SIG/AMT kits that DSA had at one point? I can't remember the name of the kits though...but they used a relatively simple stamped receiver. take care, Tec |
Hold. . .on. . . Yeah, my heart started again. Now to start gathering my pennies! AHHHH! Wow thats cool. You guys have to be the pre-eminent and most go-gettin' gun store in the US. |
No doubt there Toxie... That ORF MP5 clone will go reall nice with the G3 clone I got at BF... |

If you are gonna make an FNC lower reciever, make the bottom of the Mag Well like an AR-15 and box and bevel it for easy insertion. The mag well sux on the FNC. This is an easily correctable problem.
Heya Todd,
If you were every planning on doing like a Valmet M78 kinda thing (but that took like G3 mags) I've got a parts set.... |
Guys,
Yes we will do both varients of the 74 receiver, fixed stock and sidefolder. Sidefolder on second run. Yes the M76 rec is for the 8mm Zastava. Lots of rifles became kits and they need to be rifles again. We probably will not do a 47 milled receiver for awhile since Firing Line is running those and has a decent price. If we get caught up and have nothing else to do, ya we will run some. Todd@ORF |
Concentrate all efforts into HK94 type receivers..hehehehe.
After getting the G3 I think I am converting from the dark side.. Somebody help meeee..... |
Damn a second mortgage may be in line here! Too many want's and not enough doe trying to get ready for the AWB to sunset.
Edited to add when will you offer IPO's? |
Jeep,
Usually #1 goes to Rod the CNC master. If he does not want it it is yours. Colt, Hk's are addictive!!! You need a 33 next, G3's brother. Then move to the step kids, MP5, 53, 51. Todd@ORF |
Yeah i wan't one of those dmaned things too... Allways been a real big AK fan, but after playing with this rifle for a week, I definately want more... Are you guys still building the 33s??? |
hhhhmmmmm.....since I can't bump off Rod.....we kinda need him......I would still love # 000002 THANKS! ....gotta go, I have an appointment at the blood bank.......if I give 3 times a week, eat a lot of cookies....drink some orange juice...... |
Todd,
Please consider beveling and tapering the mag well on the FNC as well as fencing the mag release button. Then your product will be superior to the orginal. |
Heavy Metal,
Great idea about the mag well. I was planning to put a small fence around the mag release. Thanks for the input. Rod@ORF |
Glad to do it. I just remember that the lack of a bevel was an often cussed feature of the FNC.
Please make sure it is deep enough to lock up early model orlites and all should be swell. Also, you should box it around the bottom like an AR mag well to protect the bevel from accidental damage or you will have an unprotected narrow sharp edge. PS, Welcome Aboard! |
Yeah.. Welcome aboard Rod.. It's great to have another member of the ORF crew here..
As allways, thanks soo much for all your hard work... |
I can't help, but I can promise to meet you at BF 6 to compare and contrast HK-94's :p |
Sounds like a plan.. Hopefully you can make it for teh whole weekend... |
BTW, what computer program is that?
Looks kinda like a program I used at RIT couple years back. |
Hey, would it be possible to build an RPK-74 off this milled receiver?
