My BFF (no homo):

I'm extremely happy with this set up. My friend and I were shooting  3" clay pigeons100 yards away and we hit them every single shot . The only complain I have is the handguard area gets really hot after two mags... but all of my AKs are like that .

I think that is BAD ASS. I don't think I could do that if I only had one AK, but if I had a second I'd damn sure do something along those lines.

With that vertical foregrip do you have any mag change interference issues?

Yes and no.  I can no longer do mag changes by using a full mag to bang out an empty as the emtpy hits on the grip and doesnt always leave the mag well.  So now I just eject the empty with my support hand and seat a fresh one (I figure this method is better for ME because it transitions very well to how I reload on an AR).  The grip is nothing pretty to look at for sure, but the angle and length is perfect for my hand hand and the flat sides make it very easy to drive the gun.

Nice, I dont like to mag change that way anyway due to the fact that I "train to retain" my mags. The "bang out" way might be a little quicker but if I need to be THAT quick I would just transition to pistol.  I appreciate the info and sweet rig by the way, thanks

Good thought on the pistol transition, I never thought of it that way but very true.  I need to train retaining mags....come to think of it I've never done it

Depending on how you grip the dong, you can shorten it to allow for easier mag changes without compromising its effectiveness:

119,000th view. Some of these make me so jealous. I should be getting some upgrade for my rifle within this month, and I'll pop up another pic or two of it when it's zeroed properly

Story behind mine.

Edited because apparently my text clarifying that it was taken care of wasn't legible

Edited again because even though I have a legal rifle now, the response just isn't worth the hassle.

Man I wouldn't be posting pics of that if I were you. It's an NFA violation which is breaking a Federal law not just a State one. Just a suggestion.

It's got a long fh pinned on it now.  And I just ordered another one.  That was me taking a pic the day I got it.  But I'll pull it anyway, overreacting freakout is sure to be coming.

The first FH I put on is coming loose so I have another one on the way from the guys at AMD65.  Once I pin that stock I can finally bring it home instead of languishing at my mom's in PA.

If it is coming loose, it was not done correctly and is still a violation.

So your flash hider comes loose, you immediately melt the gun down?  How many parts do I have to pull off this thing to be able to haul it to my machine shop to rectify it without the black suburbans hauling me away?
