scott,
the pictures make the mounting point at the rear look like it's higher than the front? is there actually an angle to it? or is it just an optical illusion caused by the photograph? i know some stocks do that too, that's why i ask.

Can you still use the irons with a scope mounted or do the cross bolts block them?

Which models/applications do you intend to release first, or will you wait until all applications are ready before releasing any of them?

Thanks

We are working on it.....we are trying everything we can to keep the cost down. We have a couple more options in works and as soon as we have something I'll let you know.

Scott

I'm willing to wait for a good thing, especially given Scotts/DPHArms reputation.

Waiting patently.

I think it would better if you put a mil spec picatinney rail on it.

I've been putting my entire optics setup on hold for this rail!  Glad to finally see some proof of concept photos; it's like a nice reward for my patience .

One question though; what is up with the front mounting point?  On the previous version, the rail replaced the rear sight leaf; this version appears to be hinged on a hole my AK (WASR 10/63) doesn't have.

I am just a little concerned that the front screws into the site block won't hold well without a small indent drilled into the block. I am thinking that with the general knocks a gun takes in the field it might loose 0. All in all it looks to be the answer to the top rail issue. Hats off to you for taking it on! How does the cam in the rear work? Think it will be ready for Christmas

Nothing a punch, a drill press, and a steady hand couldn't fix.

+1  I have to think it would be easy to lose zero. Those set screws seem like they would eventually creep slightly when the user repeatedly opens and closes the rifle for cleaning.

I do agree with omegis13 though. Anyone handy with tools should be able to make a more solid mount point themselves.

Then again, it might be nice to see it come with both options accounted for (like coming with the proper drill bit and instructions). Personally, I'd rather do a little smithing and have something that will last after many, many "open/close" cycles. Just my opinion. Either way, this looks like a nice setup.

I'd even be ok with it/like it better if it replaced the rear sight leaf like the old mount. So mate the old front with the new rear mounting and I'd be down.

Will that work with a Krebs?
Do you have any close up photos that show how it attaches to the rear trunnion?

if your talking about a kreb's rifle. it should kreb's use a saiga as a platform.
