Finished the cast 80% AR. I have about 2.5 hours of machine work in it.

I have a forged 80% lower on the way plus the 0% forgings to work through the winter.

ETA Better pics

If you can finish out a 80% lower in 2.5 hours of machine work.... you are a machinist-god!

I know, This one went really quick for some reason. Working on the 0%ers put it into a whole diffrent world.  Its really not that difficult if you think through your setups.

So I went out @ 0700 in 36 Degree weather  to test fire and finish (laser boresighters rock) sighting in the AR.

I was only able to get through two mags befor work called and I had to go make money.

Mag 1 was a USGI 30 rounder loaded with Winchester Q3131A. Out of 30 rounds I had 2 Failer to Feeds. Both where a bolt over stopage. (Bolt over the round being chambered, round partially in mag and on feed ramps.) once cleared all where fired and extracted normally. Rounds where impacting high from POA

Mag 2 was an Orlite 30 loaded with the old lacqure wolf. Same results as above except I had 4 FTF however ; those numbers are probably inflated as I was trying to induce them by applying pressure both for and aft of the magazine while fireing. Rounds where not as high as the Winchester.

I believe these failures are being caused by the magazine haveing to much play (inline with the barrel) I have been unable to reproduce this jam by manually cycling the action unless I slowly let the bolt move forward while aplying pressure to the front of the magazine.

I like your work.
I am waiting on my 80%forgings to come in, so that I can get busy.
Keep up the good work.
