i got to play with one on a TP9 ( TMP) DSA had at their booth at the SHOT show. It was sweet and freaking small! that's all i know

As for one of the new Aimpoints, it is the Micro T1. I got the new Shooting Illustrated last night and it was in it. Looks slick. Aluminum and stainless steel construction, 3 1/2 ounces, 2.4in long, 1.7in high, with an integral picatinny rail mount. Has a 4moa dot, and 30,000 hour battery life, or 3 1/2 years continuous at the full brightness setting! To quote part of the article;

The Micro T-1 is the result of requests from operators around the world for a rugged, yet unobtrusive, red-dot sight as weapon systems become more complex with a host of accessories hung on them. The idea to develop a much smaller sight was based on the awareness that there is a need for a small sight on weapons that become too bulky when equiped with an Aimpoint Comp M2/3...

... it is deffinately tactical, prettly slick, and will be a hit. ETA:The Aimpoint T-1 is a tube style like the rest of their Comp' series, just does not look like anything they have ever made. I figured I would add that since the size given might lead some to think it was just another Doctor/J-Point type sight.

here's one thing I know, the price is a little ridiculous, I think it is around $680 and it's not the perfect AR optic

OK, its $700.00 for a 2MOA mini DOT.

What kind of battery does it use?

I saw that the new M4 uses a AA battery and get 75k of battery time.

I don't know what battery it uses but someone posted in another thread that it gets 30,000 hours on the brightest setting

Yep, I like it, but not that much. Six hundred plus for it is a little too steep for what it is. Maybe three or four years from now, when the second or third generation is out, they will be realistic on the prices.

The mini dot is 400.00 for T1, not 700.00. 700.00 plus price tag is for the up coming M4 which ran off a AA battery with 75,000 hours of operation.

Mini Dot has 4MOA with about 10,000hours of batery life.

it comes in T1, R1, and H1... if I am correct.. for an EOTech guy, Aimpoint part number is harder to remember.

T1 is ruggedized military model with NV compatibility.
R1 is civilian model
H1 is R1 in silver

At $400, that does make you think twice. A group buy might even lower the price some more. Tempting.
