does it weigh less, have more battery life, and shed the 'tactical' rails on the exterior?

none-the-less

tag-ownage...

thanks for the post!

Thanks for the writeup.

Question:  When working with mils, do the rules of 1st and 2nd focal planes still apply?  If so, and if CQT is 2nd plane, at what magnification level are the mils calibrated for ?

Good write up...
Would not surprise to see Leupy pull out a new CQB/variable one of these days....

And knock a few pairs of socks off..

I asked Chris O'Donnell whether they would be FFing the low mag end. They are doing the high mag end first, where milling is more commonly used.

Quoted:
I’ve been using a Leupold CQT with standard circle dot reticle for the past year of and on for Multi-Gun/3 Gun Matches and I have been pretty happy with it.  For matches that didn’t have shots past 300 yards, it was great.   The one limitation it always had vs other optics it is often compared to it lacked BDC or hold over marks in the reticle to make shooting past 300 yards easier.

Leupold recently sent me a CQT with a new prototype reticule in it to T&E...
I’ll be using this rifle with the new CQT at more matches in the upcoming months…looking forward to seeing how the equipment and myself perform together in more diverse shooting situations.

If you are coming to the upcoming RM3G match in August, please bring it, I'll like to take a peek  (I'll be ROing one of the rifle stages).

Kick ass write up. Whoever was working the video camera should invest in a tripod. I'm all dizzy after watching that shakey-cam action.
