I shoot the hell out of it (mostly 55 grain though) some guns don't "like" Wolf but I would give it a try. It isn't going to hurt anything.

Yep, give it a try. I shoot mostly 55gr split between brass and steel.

It's dirty, it's relatively inaccurate, often comparatively underpowered and it smells funky, but dangit if it don't go bang like anything else. See if your rifle likes it - if it does, and you're just looking for plinking ammo, it's a good choice.

Yep. Dirty, weak, but it always goes bang. As others have said, try a box. Some ARs wont cycle it.

OP, take few minutes to read through the ammunition forum. The Wolf question has been asked numerous times, and there are many excellent replies in the various threads. Check out the tacked threads for info on just about any question you may have regarding ammo. Good shooting.

Put about 1000 through my rifle and had 1 fail to feed. Just ordered 2k more yesterday. Good enough for me.

To be honest there is nothing to gain from using it if the WPA polymer coated or Brown Bear lacquer coated stuff works fine, so you might as well save the 20 bucks plus per/k. As you have a Stag barrel, chances are you will have no problems with any of the cheap ammo as they are slightly overgassed and very unpicky in my experience. Just stay away from Tula ammo...chances are your rifle will even run that fine, but it is inferior to the Bear/Wolf WPA brands. |

The only significant difference I've noticed is that it's kind of stinky when fired.
And I've fired a LOT of Wolf 5.56, it goes bang too. |

I use to have a bunch of black box wolf. It was 99% reliable and it gave me 1.5 moa all day long. Thats out of a 14.5 SOCOM barrel.
My highest rd. count is 660 rds. no cleaning and just a little bit od oil on the bold here and there. maybe every 200 rds. Zero malfs. and the reason I stopped at 660 was I was out of wolf ammo. |

I just cannot bring myself to shoot Commie ammo through my AR. I'll run it through my AK until my hand guards burst into flames but not my AR...Just my $.02

Well here it is everyone....I went to the range this evening and put about 80 rounds of WPA through my stag arms AR and it performed flawlessly!!! I will definitely get more Wolf ammo for the range!! |

The reason for Fail to Fire, is that the trigger spring is to light for the primer. I was shooting 7.62x39 Wolf ammo out of my AR, without the spring it would fail to fire. It would strike the primer, but wasn't enough umph.
