I'd someday like to have so much ammo that I find thousands of rounds stashed somewhere. That's good living.

Holy Christ, those are bad lots and will kill your AR, you need to send all of it to brother Zhukov

Isn't there something along the lines of "Thou shalt not covet they neighbors ammo stash"? I shoot the "crappy" stuff first and save the good stuff. Years ago I bought 5 or six 500 round cases of XM193 cause it shot well and I got a good price on it and tucked it away in ammocans. I'd forgotten I'd bought that much. Want some photos of all of it?

Now I really gotta go digging. I bet I have some of that too. Edit: So when are we gonna go and shoot some of it? Edit2: Nope, no lot 1 or 2. I suspect I shot it all. I did find a ton of lot 8 though... |

Ah yes, back in the days when you could get Lot 1 delivered for $72/case.
Reminds me of the time I found 2000 rounds of 7.62x51. I knew I had two cases of this ammo somewhere but could simply not find. I had planned to attend a shoot and needed it, so I ended up ordering four cases of the Port 308 to make sure I had ammo. When the new ammo showed up, I found the old ammo; I had been using those two cases as a foot rest under my desk and forgotten about it until I started looking for a place to put the four new cases.
