I looked on the box and it said .223. It did'nt say Q3131 anywhere on it. The only thing on the box was USA223R1VP. It also had a lot number on the box which said WF32. This stuff came in a 40 rd. box packed loosely. Any advice?

Just walmart white box, winchester white box. Just good cheap plinking ammo.

It's not Q3131, Q3131 is marked 5.56mm and says Q3131 on it.  If it says .223 it's regular old Winchester White Box, .223 Remington, not 5.56mm NATO.

Off hand, I would say that they are two very difference items.  hey   IMHO, if it is true Q3131 inside, then it would say "Q3131" instead of  "USA223R1VP".  he   This is just my 2-cents, which you can either agree or disagree with.

There's nothing to really disagree about.

Q3131 is 5.56 Nato made in the USA.

The 40 rd value packs marked USA223R1VP is .223 and made in Israel.

Different brass, different bullet, different load, different manufacturer.

They’re different prices and have their purpose.  I’ve had better frag and accuracy results with the .223 WWB stuff vs Russian stuff (Wolf, SB) but it shouldn’t take the place of xm193 or Q3131.

2 different rounds.  the stuff you have is good for fun plinking.  Q3131 or Q3131A is the rounds you want for training.

It's 2 different animals. The white box stiff is good ammo though. Alot of people will tell you must use M193 or m855 for "training" or SHTF purposes. Id agree if you are a cop, military, or serious operator of some kind. Otherwise, WWb or other .223 is fine for most any purpose including home defense or "shtf". It is true you will lose some velocity and fragmentation capability by using .223, but its deadly enough unless the above applies to you.  For most people "training" is plinking anyway, except for the above mentioned individuals.  Dont be scared away from .223 unless you have a specific need for 5.56. m193.  On the other hand, if you can buy m193 at the same price and availability, Id definetly use it as a first choice.
